  1. Hi,

How to make custom resolution on Intel 965GM, for example i want 1024 x 640 (wide aspect ratio)

i'd tried power strip but that graphics card is not supported

also there is a topic at Intel.com about custom resolution but talking about hacking graphics drivers .INF file, but it is very professional to me or hard to me to get !! http://shareit.intel.com/WikiHome/Articles/111111431

    i've now 1280 x 800 / 1024 x 768 / 800 x 600 14'1" WXGA screen

    monitor info:

    Raw EDID base

    00: 00 FF FF FF FF FF FF 00 06 AF 44 44 00 00 00 00

    10: 01 10 01 03 80 1E 13 78 0A 7F E5 93 55 50 8C 27

    20: 22 50 54 00 00 00 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01

any support from you will be nice. Thank you...

  2. ^^ So did it solve your problem? :)

actually, i turned Guest on, then i hide it... but vista login me automatically

i'll try your idea about creating another account as soon as possible....

Edit: no way, vista login me automatically :D the other user account must not be hidden

  3. Now I got the problem. I have faced the same situation in past. If you install .NET Framework or Visual Studio in Windows, it creates a new hidden user "Asp.net" (or a similar username). Which is not displayed at login screen but causes you to click on the username to log into Windows.

If you delete that user, you'll not be required to click on your username at Login screen and you'll direct log into Windows.

So I think the tweaking software has deleted that user account and thats why you are directly going to Desktop. ;)

You can create a new user account and then you'll get the login screen showing your username and then you can click on the username before going to Desktop.

Otherwise you can set a password to your account. :)

Thanks, but is there a way to make the other account hidden ?

  4. I know that in XP, it would automatically log you in if there was only one user, that account had no password, and the guest account was disabled. Try going to the reg key mentioned above and creating the DWORD_VALUE autoadminlogon and setting it to 0.

this is similar to checking "users must enter password"..

i'd tried that but guest had to be on, so i can choose between 2 accounts at login screen !

  5. Open regedit and goto:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

In right side pane, delete following keys if exists:

AutoAdminLogon (You can also set its value to 0 instead of deleting it)

    DefaultUsername

    DefaultPassword

    It should work. :)

sorry, but winlogon is in current user key not local machine and didn't contains that keys...

  6. i think there is some bowing in my lap TFT screen ie: the horizontal lines are slightly curved,

this appears mainly in text documents !! what i know bowing can occur only in CRT monitors not TFTs !!

also, after warming up, i think bowing decrease.

please, what's your advice ? and is there any thing that i can do ?

    - it's a new acer budget laptop "as4315" running 1280x800 resolution on 14.1 TFT with updated drivers for intel 965 graphic chip and OS: Vista premium.

    Thanks for your support...

  7. thanks for your support

yes eyeball, there was a conflict between the ip address of the AP and the network, so make it automatic as changing it manually fails.

then i corrected the wep encryption key as i was thinking it is only a password, but it must be a~f 1~9

then it didn't also connect, at this point, i rolled back to the previous drivers of my nic and.... it Worked :D

i'm using now wep 64 bit security, is this ok ?

also, when i boot vista takes a long time identifying network and there is an X sign between AP and Globe

but when i click diagnose it connect to the internet and says there is no problem !!

Edit: i'd disabled ip v6 and link layers protocols, i think it is ok now...

Thanks for your time and help

  8. yes connect to the access point first with an ethernet cable and then put the settings in. Then plug it into your neighbours cable and if you configured it right it will work :)

P.S post back if you need help with any paticular settings

Please help, I’d got the access point DLink g700ap and configure it to obtain automatic ip address, as this access point has a default ip 192.168.0.50

Our network has the range of 10.0.0.x

    I’ve win vista premium

Now it refuses to connect !! the wireless button is "on" on laptop, and security is opened (no security) on the access point.

i'd also make it open with wep enabled on both vista and access point, but no way..., vista see the access point but refuses to connect.

Please help me…thank you for your support.

  9. to configure an access point for the very first time it is recommended that you connect to it from the LAN side.

why are you connecting to your neighbours access point? what are you trying to achieve?

    thanks

no, we are sharing dsl, so i have a cable from my neighbours, but i'm thinking of getting an access point for me...

also, if it's located in one room with open door, can all rooms have a good connection ?

    Thanks.
