  1. I've been doing the Beginners guide for about 3 days ago and it was a really good how-to! But I missed some information in the Virtual Machine Tips. When I had completed the install of VMware Workstation 5 and was about to test my newly created unattended disc i ran into trouble. I got the "No harddiskdrive installed, Press F3 to quit" during the WinXP install. I tryed solving the problem for hours and finally i found out that I needed a SCSI driver in order to make the install complete. The drivers was to be found at: http://www.vmware.com/download/ The driver i needed, because my host OS was WinXP Pro, was: http://www.vmware.com/download1/software/s...ver-1.2.0.0.flp I just think it will make the how-to even better, by telling about the need for SCSI driver in order to make your virtual machine install your OS correctly. If this topic is to be written about, then tell about adding a floppydrive in the virtal-machine-program and how to mount the floppy-image. Just a suggestion to make the guide better! B) Wuhtzu - the happy owner of a unattended disc -> thanks to msfn.org!
  2. Yes i have enabled the Virtual drive and ive found the problem too. Just like when you are using a SATA-disc, you need a SATA-driver to intall during the windows install. Same problem here. Im using a normal IDE-harddisk in my host computer and the host OS is WinXP Pro. Then i needed this SCSI-driver: http://www.vmware.com/download1/software/s...ver-1.2.0.0.flp The driver is a floppy-image which can be added to your floppy-drive in WMware. Then normal procedure; Press F6 to install SCSI-driver, then press S to specify the driver. And now it works:) but thanks for the idea about the virtual hdd! Wuhtzu - sorry for asking when i found out my self!
  3. Hey Im using WMware Workstation 5 for testing my unattended winxp-install-disc. I've created a new virtual machine and i've made it boot correctly from the cd-image. But when it in the installs says: Starting windows it just tells me that there wasnt found any hdd-devices installed and press F3 to quit? What can be done about that one? My "base-pc" is using a normal IDE-harddisk drive... Wuhtzu
