    mini98

I wasnt really wanting to discuss hirens cd, thats just the only place I have seen a good working bootable win98 that runs from ramdisk and is that small. It was merely a point of reference.

    mini98

Before I go on with this post I want to make sure everyone knows that I am NOT asking for hirens cd. I am not asking about getting pirated software. I am merely wondering if anyone has information on Mini98. With that out of the way on to my question. I see on hirens bootcd 7 (the latest version) it has a bootable Mini98. It is under 13 megs and runs very quickly. It can run off of ramdisk or the c: drive (it copies itself to the c drive then runs.) I want to know if anyone knows anything about this. Did he make it himself or is this a well known version? I know of a few tutorials on making bootable windows 98 cds, but none of them come close to the ease, speed, and size of this one. I am wanting to make a bootable windows 98 cd for repair work on older systems where a bartpe disc is not a good idea. So any information on this Mini98 would be nice.
  3. Thanks for the quick reply. I'll just burn them to the cd and take it with me then, thanks for all the hard work.
  4. I go to peoples houses to fix their computers and a lot of times I run into Unknown Devices or hardware they have that isnt setup right. I would like to bring a cd with all the drivers in the driver pack with me. then I want to just go to the device manager and right click on a device, update driver and have it find it on the cd if it can. Whats the best method to accomplish this? since none of the sub-directories have inf files I cant select them. I have to go through each directory until I find the right one. Any ideas?
  5. CCleaner supports command line parameters. You can then use the task scheduler from the control panel to set it up to run every night and do all the cleanup you need.
  6. MGDx: Shouldnt the answer be relatively simple? Installing new SP: install sp, install 982me, install RP Installing new 982me: install 982me, install RP Installing new RP: Just install RP? Is that basically correct?
  7. Could an addition to this install list on the main page be made? I think a small "upgrade" section is needed. It should contain a section "What to do when a new version of X comes out." Where X is SP, RP, or 982ME. That way people know exactly what they need to do when a new 982ME comes out, or a new RP or a new SP. I would personally like at least an answer to all 3
  8. Thanks for the respnse. Thats what I figured, just didnt want to do it and be wrong...
  9. Can you just install this one over the one from a few days ago? Is there anything different to do for an upgrade?

    Driver Pack?

Well you dont need every driver out there. But a good set of the most common ones. I'm sure you could fit that in about 200 megs. Add that to everything else I have on my "all in one" 98se cd and I would have the perfect cd for fixing up old systems.

    Driver Pack?

I'm guessing with 40 views and no reply that I am out of luck. The lack of any good results via google would seem to point to that as well.
  12. I was just wondering, after reading about all the XP unattended driver packs out there... Has anyone made a big collection / pack of drivers for 98se?
