i dont know how winpe works, but i imagine all ud ned to do for it to work is grab the pebuilder plugin for nero or cdburner and have a look @ the inf and c what files u need to copy and what reg keys to need to install?
-
Bilou: im re-coding alot of the internal code coz it plain suked so as soon as thats done ill add more switches options... yes the text needs to be fixed... ill do that eventually... it shouldnt crash if its too long... where does it crash? on load? or when u try to install? guirunonce is coming real soon also...
-
Michael: im not useing explorer coz its too slow to load and i dont need it... have a look at the ramdisk plugin for bartPE, even if u dont use pebuilder im sure u can work out how to make te ram disk from that

Unattended XP - How to execute WINNT.SIF?
jdgordon replied to g4s's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
post your winnt.sif file.. its prob not got enough info so its being rejeced -
ok, a few minor bugs to fix up... ok need some input... atm it looks in the same directory for a winnt.sif file to use for the answers... the location of winnt.sif is where the new answer file will be created with the values given... this needs to be changed... not sure how it should look tho. any ideas? also, if ppl post some of the most used reg hacks the'd like included (havnt started on the unnatteded program install yet, i will have the option to just run XPlode after finishing installing... also... which settings from the winnt.sif file do ppl want in the program? i want to make it as complete as possilbe (without making it too hard to navigate... i think the tabs will get too big with many more pages? ) yeah, so post all suggestion here

hey all 0.4 IS UP... OPEFULLY ALMOST FINISHED ok i did a quick n dirty web site that isnt finished yet but it has the download links... if any1 is bored and wants to donate 15min of thier time to do a guide that would be great http://members.optusnet.com.au/jdgordy/pexp/ 0.4 - fixed setting importing so lines with spaces before the actual setting now works better - fixed other random settings - got it to a basically finished state so i can work on other stuff 0.3 - added [Display] and [shell] settings and well as more options - fixed timezones setting - added Confirmation window before installing - added option to view the answer file in a text editor 0.2 - major internal recode to make adding more opptions MUCH easier, and hopefully fixed a lot of the crashes (well there wernt that many were there?) 0.1 - changed the way the answer file is loaded so u can use your own without worrying about it being overwritten with the default garbage (havta remove than eventually?! WHAT IS PEXP INSTALLER? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- well some of u may have tried my last attempt @ making a prgram that can install winxp (and 2k3 and prob 2k) from winpe allowing you to customize the answers fully before starting. well my last attempt suked, so i got stuck into it and its back... BETTER THAN EVER the biggest change is th gui.. it now fits in a 800x600 screen much better (except the text is all wierd for some reason... if some1 can guess whats the cause itd be a big help) if you are using pebuilder then simply extract the zip file into the plugins dir and add it next time you make a cd. the only file nescasery is the exe, the ini is just coz im very lazy.. who wants a screenshot??? the top is the main window, the bottom is 1 of the edit winnt.sif dialogue.. IMPORTANT.... when u press "install windows" it will use watever drive is selected... so make sure u put it in the rigt place.. ill do a confirmation window when i get around to it... it expects the hard disk to be formatted and ready for windows... however it uses the /syspart swith on the drive so there shouldnt be a problem there.... so could ppl test it and tell me if it actually works? testing in my virtual PC it installs except you have to manually reboot it when winnt32.exe finishes.. If you have problems with the text please look at this post http://www.911cd.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=4054&hl=bold or i may just change the default font to tahoma instead of MS sans serif ALSO.... the program says (if it cant find a winnt.sif file) that clicking install will do a boring standard install.... this is wrong... it will do a install with random info i put in to test it without a sif file... ill change that for the next release STUFF TODO: dynamic update confirmation window change winnt32.exe parameters reg hacks.. services etc more settings website suggestions and comments.....

ill have a fiddle here tonight, i have 2 cdroms so there is no issue for me

well we have a post your screenshot thread so y not have a post your program list... im making this a proper recovery tool so im trying not to forget too much ESSENTIALS: notepad wordpad paint progman (my deskop manager coz XPE and other shells are too slow, still use nu2menu as the actual shell) nu2menu PEloader (to get around 6 process problem) barts networking plugin USB storage support FILE MANAGERS: A43 winfile ext2fs (in the incredibly off chance i ever need to recover files form a linux partition.... doesnt work yet tho, complainss about wow32.dll not being loaded?) APPs: partition magic 8 7-zip acrobat reader 6 cdBurnerXP pro putty peregistryeditor (edit the local registry through pe... i.e not the 1 on the cd) remote desktop connection client bginfo vOPT defrag thats all for now... gonna add my PEXP installer (when i finish it... redone alot of the gui so it works better), a browser and ftp client, data recovery tools, disk imaging...

ive just setup bartpe with the cdburnerXP pro plugin, i havta reboot to actually test it but the gui works in virtual pc im not 100% sure where i found the plugin (911cd.net/forums i tihnk) EDIT: i just tryed it and it works (wouldnt detect my burner in 2k3 but detected it fine in bartPE made from xpsp1)
-
here is mine... its partPE with nu2menu as the shell (with TheTruths winlogon legit hack) and bginfo and Program Manager for its speed...

hey, just wondering if u were planning on makingf the ini file ditable before running winnt32.exe?
-
gday... ok so i need to remake my xp-disk (bloody burner ripped my last 1 apart) and there is like 5 different hotfix methods, and heaps of other programs and stuff to help get the unnatended cd going... my question is what does what? also.. is there a program that u can put on bartpe disk as a frontend for the winnt.sif file so u can do a full unattended cd 100% customizable all from bartpe? (i started doing this a while ago but gave up, and thinking of starting it again if no1 has done this yet) also... is there a frontend of any type for diskpart???? i keep stuffing it up

"Remember Me" or "Don't Remember Me"
jdgordon replied to Denney's topic in Web Development (HTML, Java, PHP, ASP, XML, etc.)
hehe, i evened out the poll anyway. remember me is much better a) becuase probably 90% of sites do it like that (remember 75% of all stats are made up) and its more annoying to be on a public comp and accidently forget to click dont remember me, than to be at home and forget to click remember me. aspecially if the site has potentially sensitive material -
actually the only reason i origionjally wrote this in c was coz i dont know how to do file I/O in vb and seen as my unin course is heavily based around c, i thought it would be better for me to learn win32 than vb...
-
reelaaaaax you guy... i was joking....
-
well... since my burner decided to obliterate my winxp cd after it finished it, and me not getting a new 1 yet, and the fact that if i dont start studying soon ill fail the semester in uni which id rather not... so i have shelved this for a while (also the fact i got a bit bored of it ) might give it another go in the sememster holiday in about 1.5 months... so if any1 wants to take over your welcome to the code (its in msvc6 win32 c) but it looks like some1 else is doing the same thing in vb6 (which sux coz u need the vb6 runtimes)
