  1. wont work because oem keys are different then the cooprate ones install the oem and give a micro rep a call to activate.
  2. i can tell you sp2 home wont install on that computer because you have to update the bios,there is a known conflict with sp2 and the hyper transport on the cpu. you can go into youre bios and select the limit cpu id max val and set it to enable until you upgrade the bios.
  3. first unplug everything,router,modem then plug modem in first shut down all pcs and restart one at a time until each one optains an ip address.may have a dhcp problem.
  4. i found out the hardway that the best tweak of all is none,including regcleaners! in any windows platform

  8. almost forgot,youre rwin settings and mtu are probably set to low they are not configured for broadband,for cable it should be set rwin 65545 and mtu 1500.you can get that at http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp its also for cable select the exe file save to desktop make sure you set the settings on the lan that you are using for internet service,reboot and you are set.
  9. i think youre cpu is to low for the comcast cable,they call for at least a 266. norton really has trouble with alot of systems.i recomend http://www.majorgeeks.com and down load the anti virus personal edition whch is free and has daily updates.if possible i would reformat and do a fresh install of 98se upgrades almost garantee trouble.

  11. go with 98se over ME!! ME is the bastard child that no one wanted. Run cache man 5.11,its free and no 9x platform should be with out it.
