Can I cross link files on an NTFS drive in the same way that you can for a cd iso with CDIMAGE.exe or MKISOFS.exe, but actually on the drive as usable, not as an ISO?

If i boot to winpe or bartpe, will that enable me to format the disk to NTFS, instead of a dos boot disk formatting as FAT32? is there a way to format as NTFS and copy the files over in pure dos, or not pure dos, just booting from a floppy disk instead of a cd?

How do I make XP or 2k3 install from the drive it will be installed to? for example if I copy the i386 folder to c:\i386, how to I start the install from that folder to install to drive c: ?

I have tried the link, and it doesnt work. I would really like a 16 bit support guide for MS WinPE as there are so many old tools which i still use, and would be nice on a boot cd. If anyone has managed this successfully, please let us know! Using the previous posted link, I try to run a 16 bit app and I get something like: "not enough disk space to create temporary 16 bit subsystem". I have tried loads of apps, which definitely do not need write access to a HD so that is not the problem. Any Ideas???
