  1. I just tried slipstreaming IE6 today (with no hot fixes) and it gave me a couple of errors about missing files (some .infs) and now Windows Update reports IE6 isn't installed, even though it is according to the IE about box.
  2. Thanks, I didn't know that. I'm using a theme manager that assins the control panel icon to where it was in Windows 9x, so I looked and saw these files un-XPized...

    shell32.dll

Please patch the icons I've circled in shell32.dll I've inlcuded the rest so you can find where they are. Thanks!
  4. I checked my settings in BIOS, it was hidden away in some setting. Works now.
  5. The method posted here didn't work -text setup recognized my SATA drive but Windows didn't. I had to reinstall using Bashrat the Sneaky's driver pack.
  6. I finally got it working -I used Bashrat the Sneaky's driver pack. But Windows won't boot unless the setup disc is in the drive.
  7. I just tried it. Windows doesn't recognize the SATA drive once it installs.
  8. I figured out was wrong. I put in an old IDE drive I had and installed Windows. It installed Windows without a hitch. So it was that Windows, once it was installed was not recognizing the SATA drive. Now, what to do about it?
  9. I'm still not getting anywhere. Setup detects the drive as drive C: but it refuses to boot. Is it a problem with jumpers? SATA drives don't use jumpers.
  10. I tried what you suggested then reinstalled Windows. It seemed to work and then it got back where it was when I started.
  11. This is just standard PC3200 DDR RAM, 2 sticks of 512. I'll give it a try though.
  12. I just built my new computer. I have a abit AX8 motherboard, amd Athlon 64 3500+, Samsung 160GB SATA hard drive. I just finished installing Windows. Windows installed alright. Except setup recognized my hard drive as drive E: Its my first SATA hard drive. It restarted the computer. Now Windows refuses to start. It gets to the point where Windows loads, then it presents me the list of how to start Windows. Choosing any option will restart the computer. Help!
  13. I'm testing it now in a virtual machine, it seems to have worked. The text went by to fast to read.
  14. No, actually my chipset VIA K8T890/VIA VT8237 isn't supported. I had to edit txtsetup.sif by hand.
  15. But I had my SATA drivers slipstreamed already in the OEMDriversPNP.
  16. I just ran the DriverPack on my XP Pro SP-2 install. I chose method 2. It ran fine. This is my first time running the DriverPack. What changes did this make to my winnt.sif? I notice my DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy = Ignore is missing. I had drivers slipstreamed! Is this normal?
  17. You could hit Ctrl+Alt+Del at the logon screen to get to the standard Windows password dialog. Doesn't safe mode in Windows XP include 16-bit color drivers so you can at least use 16-bit color?
  18. The logon screen should be easy to fix. You have to enable the welcome text in order for the shut down text to appear.
  19. There are several [sourceDisksFiles]s. Does it matter which one?
  20. No, its 32-bit Windows. So copying your txtsetup code will put work?
  21. Well, according to the guide here http://www.collosumus.net/amd64/addhw_1.html I should add a line like fasttx2k.sys = 1,,,,,,3_,4,1,,,1,4 fasttx2k.inf = 1,,,,,,,20,0,0 to my txtsetup.sif but i don't see anything in my txtsetup.oem that coorisponds to that code.
  22. Its integrated into the motherboard. As I said its an Abit AX8 motherboard with the VIA K8T890 + 8237 chipset. Doing some research reveals its a 3-part driver.
  23. Well I've tried nlite, and it tells me there are 3 drivers (3 parts?) on the disk. I don't know how you'd even install 3 drivers... I certainly don't know how to integrate 3 of them in nlite. The instructions in the guide say they should be similiar to the example given there, but I don't know what to do. So I can't do it by hand. I'm only installign 1 drive. No RAID needed. My motherboard manual doesn't help.
