I have to create a german unattended xpcd, but i don't want to download all hotfixes again. So is it possible to install the english hotfixes on a german system?
No, this won't work correctly. You need the german versions.
And am i right in assuming, that the german windows xp uses "C:\Programme" instead of "C:\Program Files"?Yes. Also note that other files have different names, i.e. wallpapers, and "documents and settings" is called "Dokumente und Einstellungen" and so on.
I already posted about some problems for german users in http://www.MSFN.org/board/index.php?showtopic=7629&hl= but nobody has corrected those errors in the german version of the guide.

Can i ask why you would wish to disable that.
It loads some of the driver configuration pages into memory, so it doesn't take ages to open the display properties. It just eats a bit of memory... at least i don't set my driver options all the time, and http://www.3dcenter.de/atuner/ is much better for that task anyway...

But I appreciate your hard work, though. Must have been tough to add all informations about which hotfix is for what.
Wait till you see mine, complete with emulated CHOICE command (to abort for quick testing on second PC)...

Before i forget it, if you want, i can post the .cmd files with filenames for the german XP version (i.e. the wallpapers have different names etc!).

Great guide on your page, there are a few things i still have questions about:You apply the registry tweaks in "main_batch.cmd". Wouldn't it be better to put them in applications.cmd, after all hotfixes have been installed? This way, the fixes install with the default XP settings and all services activated which is maybe better, plus the services can't be turned on by some patch again.
Furthermore, i use a german XP version and i found out that XP couldn't create shortcuts or delete files with Umlauts (ü, ä, ö) in them. This is especially troublesome since the Startmenu is called "Startmenü" in german! Does anyone know a way to circumvent this?

I found the reason why the Umlauts stuff happens; the command prompt expects DOS-coded characters, but when i create a batch file with a windows editor, they are Windows / ANSI encoded! I had to convert ANSI to OEM/DOS charset (for instance in UltraEdit).
I hope the other stuff will be included in the official guide though, and maybe you could make a note about the ANSI/OEM thing for foreign users.
That was a bit frustrating. Maybe you can save other users this hassle and add this tip, at least in the german translation of the guide.

Thanks, but as i said, i solved it by using OEM charset instead of ANSI.
I only wanted to point out that the translated guide on http://www.MSFN.org/unattended/deutsch/index.htm has many such errors.
