ahh I didn't in my last post but I will now. 915g has many variations and from photos and cracking my case open i figured out that it was one that only support ddr2 ram.

Can Dell's Dimension 4700 motherboards (Intel's 915G) support both DDR1 SDRAM and DDR2 SDRAM? I have searched, but I only see that the Dimension 4700's motherboard only supports DDR2 SDRAM. While searching for a 915G motherboard it appears to state that it supports both types of memory.

hmm try going to start menu > type in services.msc and see if "Print Spooler Service" is Started. If the service is disabled or just not started, start it.
