  1. I have to create a german unattended xpcd, but i don't want to download all hotfixes again. So is it possible to install the english hotfixes on a german system? And am i right in assuming, that the german windows xp uses "C:\Programme" instead of "C:\Program Files"?
  2. Mpak, thanks for the hint, it worked. After adding the Domain User to the local Administrators, the batch processing starts
  3. Doesn anyone know how to log the contents of the whole cmd-window while executing the .cmd file(s)? So for example writing an install.log file where all error messages are sotred so you don't have to watch your computer while installing everything.
  4. Thats where i got the idea from, just thought to give a little step-by-step for themes
  5. If you are already patching the uxtheme.dll, why not installing all your favoured themes unattended? 1. Create a install/Themes Folder and put in all your custom theme folders (so for the classix theme you'll have a folder install/Themes/classix where the .msstyle file(s) lie) 2. RAR all custom Fonts in a install/Themes/fonts.rar 3. RAR all themes in a install/Themes/themes.rar 4. Copy the unrar.exe commandline Tool from you Winrar Folder to the install/Tools folder 5. Add the following lines to your batch start /wait %systemdrive%\install\tools\unrar.exe x -inul %systemdrive%\install\themes\themes.rar %systemroot%\Resources\Themes start /wait %systemdrive%\install\tools\unrar.exe x -inul %systemdrive%\install\themes\fonts.rar %systemroot%\fonts You can of course also copy the unrar.exe to your %systemdrive first to save some typing, i think you got the idea. The main point is, that you can save lot of space by packing the themes, bceause they mainly contain textfiles.
  6. I created one Unattended CD, that automatically joins my home-domain. Everything works fine, except one (major) thing. When the XP Setup is finished, you are prompted to login. If you login as Admin on the local machine, the batch processing starts and eversthing gets properly installed. But if i login with my domain account, windows starts (it takes an unusual long time) and no batch processing is started. Any idea why?
  7. You can delete the following three folders from the i386 folder to get about 35 MB more space on the CD: WIN9XMIG WIN9XUPG WINNTUPG Just testet install without them, no problem. Thanks for the great guide
