m i the only one having issues with this chipset. i have not had a good working conroe machine yet. my first board was a GA-DQ6.. send was a P5B DELUXE. 3rd tried DQ6 again and no luck.. i was able to atleast install windows with the DQ6 but gaming was unstable. to make a long story shor. i swapped out the memory for new ones. video card. psu. and tried diff mb's. the only thing i have not tried was the processor, wut are the chances of getting a wacky processor? i sent out an rma for it. is ANYONE having any better luck then me? so far this is costing me a small fortune. SPECS P5B DELUXE LATEST BIOS 0614 2 X 1GB DDR 800 CORSAIR XMS 2 X WESTERN DIGITAL 250GB RAID EDITION LITE-ON DVD 16X BURNER MUSHKIN 550W PSU AUZENTECH 7.1 EXPLOSION ASUS SILENT SQUARE HEATSINK ATI X1900 GT till dx 10 comes out.. old video card 7800gtx I dunno something is telling me to stay away from these 965 chipsets and go with 975x again with conroe

no. its not that i m convincing myself and i did not spend thousands. its the manufactor's fault for using the ppl as pigs and sheep to figure out wuts not compatible and wut is. and there for the ppl suffer. there the ones that should have did the testing b4 selling things to ppl and the ppl get stuck b/c either they cant return it or w/e the reason may be. i posted here to show ppl some system specs.. and to give ppl the heads up, not to be told how to spend my money and i m convining myself, thats not wut the post was for. but if thats the case i make very good money and buying high end stuff dont effect me if u wanted to get into that.

k guys you know how i had to RMA the motherboard.. well it so happens that OCZ is having major problems with there memory sticks right now. especially with there PC2 6400.. so happens they dont use certain memory chips and there voltage is so high to start up! 965 mb's like 1.8V. of course OCZ is blaming gigabyte.. but cheapy ram. and corair memory boots up.. just givein the heads up if anyone is going to a conroe system. watch out for OCZ and certain memories! or it will be nothing but a headache

well i believe i had the same problem with my brothers in laws computer and nvidias unified driver worked for me.. dont ask why. but the onlder series like the 6xx or 7xx maybe? i dont remember if that was the exact card but i think it was.. give it a whirl see wut happens b/c teh viper under windows xp is usually detected and a riva 128. atleast in my case it was.. but see wut happens

Thanks on the sound card. its a explosion 7.1.. i have some bad news.. the motherboard is faulty! and one of the memory out fo the 4 were too! so i m having some issues.. i RMA'd the board.. luckly newegg let me exchage for a diff type of motherboard even though they were not suppose too.. and they even waved the restocking fee! so i went with a ASUS P5B DELUXE it had real good reviews so lets see wut happens.. i m gonna RMA the memory and then sell once i get it back and either go with some super talents or corsair.. any suggestions?

K guys my conroe came this morning! i promised some pics.. i only got a few b/c i m doing a million things at once.. but heres so u get the idea!

i never heard of a serial ata 2 drive not being reconized by windows.. but i dont put anything past microsoft.. also there were compatiblity issues with maxtor and nforce motherboards... i dunno know if the problem continues with that series or not.. if u email maxtor they will send u the firmware to update.. if the serial numbers on the drive is the ones being affected.. u said u changed the mb, and psu.. so thats crosses those out.. unless for some u known reason u got nother bad one.. u said u tested 1 memory but wut about the other one? did u mem test one at a time? p.s i had a tricky problem with my memory once... the computer would not boot when cool or cold.. and constantly restart a few times.. after a min or second reboot it would work for hrs. then when shut down.. start all over again.. so wut i did was cooled the memory and viola it did the same thing.. i found out when my memory was cool it acted up instead of when it was hott... and u installed windows 3 times? if u did its either some software or driver ur installing without realizing it.. or a hardware issue.. try installing windows when installed dont install wut u usually install. and see if that cures anything

naw.. i just dont see a point in not buying something if u really want it.. thats eat ur heart out type of deal.. i dunno bout vista... either.. we'll see.. buy i have x64 so i kno i will atleast take advantage of the mem.. and as far as the 7800gtx goes.. i was rather impressed.. but not all that impressed.. i m gonna wait out for ATI this time around Yes DM is a every night ritual! me and my friends

believe me where getting there.. some games dont even like less then 2 gigs already.. i played a few Fear.. battle field they all love 2 gigs so why not have 4

4 gigs i dunno i had the money.. i wanted to b redy for vista maybe lol and host some dm matches with me and my friends lol i guess i m insane hahaha wut dont u agree with the 7800gtx? it will get changed soon.. just waitin on the new video cards.. i had it for awhile

well go to ebay.. do a search for ur hardware see wut the round about price there going for so u know how to price them.. bc if its too high, then everyone elses. they wont buy.. or u can pribe them with buy it nows lol like i do i offer lil extra good for buy it now onlys and i catch them like flies lol.... alot of the time since i was a college student we always get updated software for school.. happens to xp pro was one of them but its corp lol... pretty cool for going to college i think.. like the whole school has this volume licenced cd lol everyone gets a copy

hes right the E6700 is a VERY good cpu but it does not justify the price tag.. a E6600 is the sweet spot... the diff between them is very small i would save the extra money and wait for nother video card.. but do ur self a favor and wait for DX 10 its foolish not too.. unless u want something cheap in the mean time

sell ur stuff and build nother LOL.. i cant tell u how many times i upgraded in the past few months up and down with the crap

LOL i hope theres a huge diff without overclocking.. i never really tried or got into the whole overclocking scene.. although i used to have alot of dangerden water cooling stuff.. really nice rig b4 this. but i got so tired of the watercooling scene when something goes wrong its a headache to constantly work over tubes and emptying the water and filling and bleeding.. i had enough so i went with the oversized heat sinks silent approach.. and now with the conroes i dont have too worry about heat anymore and quietness. but who knows maybe i will try to overclock we'll see wut happens i just hope everything works 1st! never kno

there not bad.. i dunno bout creative anymore there drivers are just horrible anymore... and as far as video cards go. if u can wait and afford, i would wait till the DX 10 cards roll out.. there coming soon

(so tired of creative.. will give up eax anyday for a workin card. and bad drivers) waiting on the cpu so long.. can finally test.. i hope its fast?!

i would like to see during the compilation page after everything is all done del files and all that... to shut down pc when complete.. incase ur at the ending stages of nlite and do not want too leave ur pc on... so it automatically shuts down when done

Well u said when this happens, u have to power off the power supply and then start it up? sounds to me like ur psu is tripping if thats the case.. have u ever tried swapping out the psu?
