Also I would like to add another point. My old hard drive was installed into a Dell PC. When i got this PC it had Windows 2000 as the default OS. I then found and installed an Operating System CD (Win XP Home Edition) that came with my HP Laptop. This CD was "Only for distribution with an HP or Compaq PC". It has run fine on my Dell over the years but could this affect it going onto my new PC? Just something i have thought back onto but just want to know if this could cause the conflict?

I have recently bought a new PC and i didnt want to install everything again so i connected my old hard drive into that pc and set it as Master. I then un-plugged the Hard drive that came with the PC. I then try to boot up my PC and it goes through the usual boot process untill it gets to the screen before the log-in that says "Windows XP Home Edition" and it has the loading bar. Normally The PC goes onto the loading screen but instead it just reboots. I tried it again thinking that it was just a one off but once again it reboots. I have checked the BIOS and it has recognised the hard drive and i have tried many other things but i just have no idea whats wrong! I really want this PC to work with my old hard drive and soon! Please can anyone help or give any suggestions of what may be wrong. Maybe its me doing something wrong but anyway just let me know. Thanks in advance, Dan.

Ok i need help with something. How can i make a movie which captures everything inside my monitor? What i mean is that say if i wanted to capture myself playing a game (e.g. counter strike)how would i go about doing it? I know you dont have to have a camcorder infront of your monitor (duh) but what devices do i need to capture what i play?

Ok do you people think i should:.. A) Swap my £10 headset (wich doesnt work on my PC) for a headset my friend got for free (wich works on my PC) B.) Try so hard to fix it untill it works C) Buy a new headset D) Go on living with no headset and hibernate in a box..

I need to transfer my data from my old hard-drive to my new one. I know that i should use an ID cable to transfer the data but does anybody know of any free software to do it with. another thing is that how will i transfer the data into my new hard-drive if it is not external? Should my hard-drive have a built-in port for the data transfer?

PLEASE can anyone give me any suggestions on how to get it working.. even a support line or summet...

TomCat it cant be that it is turned down because when i used my friends in MY pc it worked... i know there is not an external volume control on the headset because i have cheked. please give me more suggestions.

Ok.. heres my problem. I recently purchased a headset for online gaming on "Counter Strike : Source" and it came to my attention that the mic on the headset wasnt working I tried all the basic stuff to get it working (i.e. - making sure its in the right socket etc...) BUT IT WAS ALL RIGHT.. there was no reason why it shudnt work... I decided that it was eigther that my mic was bust or that it was my PC... I took my headset round to a friends house this morning AND TO MY UTER DISBELIEF IT WORKED... the thing that realy got to me is that he didnt have to do anything.. it just worked... he has the same Operating system as me so there shudnt be anything Xtra i have to do. Ok now i was realy ticked... I NEED THIS MIC. I dont mess around with my default options on anything usually so why does this mic not work? Comon people i BEG for your help...
