  2. I'm still having this problem since I wanted to upgrade to SP2.. my ntoskrnl.exe is changed.. I've extracted the same file from the original Win XP CD but still got the same error. BTW, the Windows I installed is a MSDN type of file. Could this be one of the problem? Is there any other way to upgrade my windows? Thanks.. Roger,

  4. Hi all, My pc is a single user pc. In C:\Documents and Settings there are 5 folders that is Administrator Administrator.[myname] All Users Default User.WINDOWS [myname] In System properties>User Profiles I have 2 profiles. One is my personal and the other is administrator. Do I need the administator or should I delete it? I also have one more question to ask here instead of opening a new thread for this. When I boot and reach the login screen, it takes very long to load since I've configured the services.msc to Super Tweak as described in BlackViper's services guide. I went through it and found nothing relevant to it. Any idea which service is needed for the login screen. Info=*I do not need to type my password at login *I've changed my login screen. Thanks! Roger,
  5. Do it again in safe mode, after clearing out the folder "C:\windows\system32\dllcache". You would then be able to get back to using the standard kernel. After that, you will not have any more error boxes saying that "your kernel is not Microsoft-signed, therefore we don't want to upgrade/fiddle with it" when installing SP2 or any other update. Your product key being legit or not is not relevant in this case. If you really hate your boot-screen so much, why not use something like Style XP to modify it? I don't have the dllcache in my C:\windows directory.. What should i do know.. it's not that I hate my XP boot screen. I had my boot screen modified, now even when I got the 'original' one, I still can't get to update windows. Maybe did I disable some services required for updating windows? . My setting is almost Super Tweak as Black Viper's configuration.
  6. Hi all, Before this, I reinstalled windows to get the original ntoskrnl.exe file into my windows folder since I've changed it and have no back up for it.
