  1. The one on Newegg is the enterprise edition. It has some features that slows down desktop computers, but help in a multi-user, random request environment. There's also not that beautiful clear cover .
  2. But why would it not be able to get an address? DHCP client is enabled, which is the only thing that it needs...
  3. You're right that it's caused by IPv6, since Teredo was the codename for the project at Microsoft. The problem is that I've removed all IPv6 components, files and registry data, so that wouldn't make sense. And for the first ethernet connection, you see two IP addresses. I'm assuming the one with zeros is the IPv4 address, so something's not working with that either. Couldn't ping my router, but I was able to ping localhost, meaning that the TCP/IP implementation is fully functioning.
  4. Guys I'm working my *** off on this project, but it just isn't ready for public release yet. Two major problems I'm facing is internet connectivity issues and game support. I know you guys want to help, but I doubt anyone has ever encountered a problem like this: Windows IP Configuration Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0 IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : fe80::20b:6aff:febf:57b4%4 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : fe80::5445:5245:444f%5 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : And I don't have the error message output for the game errors, but it affects any game using the Unreal engine, the easiest to test since most games using it don't rely on the registry for configuration information. Haven't tried it out on any other types of games. Can't test with Steam since it requires IE, something that I'm not going to add until later on...
  5. Is this XP or 2003? Just making sure, because 2003 doesn't allow kernel mods.
  6. Oops! Almost forgot .
  7. What does your friend think of it?
  8. And I thought it was useless registering! Only problem is that the link won't work on mine . Not much different from Hotmail, at least on FF...Dunno who I'm going to give my invites to when I get them...My friends at school aren't exactly the tech type .
  9. And another reason for not using Windows 2000 is the lack of 64-bit and dual-core support.
  10. Ok I admit the people on this forum are quite convincing . So to prevent my new computer from an untimely end, I've decided to invest in a power supply. The ones I found: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817182024 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817182027 Based on my computer stats (http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=63488), which one should I get if I plan to overclock my Opteron to 2.4GHz?
  11. @Sofer Stats can be found in Hardware Forums under topic of "New Computer". There will be wireless functionality. @Gdogg Did I say that this one has a GUI ? @Clint You'll see why when I release a beta. Beta's not going to make the January 6th deadline though. I'm not going to rush it.
  12. I just got an invite from the admin . Thought everyone did too...
  13. Seems like people do care ...Rating dropped by one star...
  14. It appears that I've been able to fix the molex connector using simple tools such as a paper clip and pin ! Where is the common sense these days ? Anyway, can't wait until the heat sink arrives so that I can test to see if it works.
  15. @gdogg Heh told you the size would grow . Expect it to grow by, oh let's just say 100MB or so. And then expect it to start shrinking. Won't tell you anymore than that . But let's just say that even if you do have the smaller install, mine will be much more functional and customizable. I wouldn't be surprised if some of my potential users are thrown away by the increasing size, but let me assure you that it will shrink, although not as drastic as 20MB .
  16. Ok so the 15 days already past , meaning that I'm stuck with what I have. My parents said they will not spend even a penny more on computer equipment...So is there any way to test if my power supply is actually stable or not? Would doing a performance stress test help? Even if I do have a bad power supply, just knowing how it performs under stress will make me feel better.
  17. About the power supply...I bought my PSU based on the suggestions of Guru3d: http://www.guru3d.com/article/content/242/5/ They recommend 22Amps on the 12V rail, which is exactly what I got, so I don't see how it's too weak. The video card fan was even spinning, so I assume there's power to power up the fan at the very least. I can't test to see if it works with the CPU yet, since the heatsink doesn't arrive until Jan. 6.
  18. That thing costs $100 !?! I don't think I can go over my budget any more than I already have....
  19. Would Newegg accept an RMA for that reason? I'm really a noob to RMA's...And the power information for the PSU: http://www.rosewill.com/product/product.aspx?productId=181
  20. Personally, I've had a great experience with Epox motherboards: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813123222 The power pack on my board included 9 heatsinks for MOSFET's and any other small chips you wanted to cool. Also, there was a screwdriver that was compatible with all of the screws my computer uses, very helpful if you don't know the first thing about screwdrivers and screw sizes. If you're on a budget: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813135216 Nothing that's going to use less money than this.
  21. I don't know much about HTML either...My suggestion would be to change the BG to a solid color.
  22. Do you think this qualifies for an RMA? After all, it wasn't my fault that the wiring was loose in the first place...And if my hardware does work, do I need to get a new power connector? Or is running one just fine?
  23. So am I doomed?
  24. If all goes well, and I'm praying that it does (meaning my computer works even though I plugged in a 12V connector into a 5V slot), then expect something on January 6th .
  25. ! If I fried it, then why was the fan onboard the video card operational? And the chipset fan was running also. The Port 80 code was FF.
