I am using Win2ksp4 Advanced Server on a pre-built intel 667MHz 256ram system. I recently installed the Silicon Image Inc (Was: CMD Technology Inc) SiI 0680 (Was: PCI-0680) Ultra ATA133 EIDE Controller (purchase was without drivers/manual) I used Sandra to determine the exact type of device and proceeded to download and install the drivers (SiI PCI-680 ‘base driver’ Version 1.0.0.12 Release.) dated 1/24/2005 from SI's driver site. I then also installed SiI0680_x86_InstallSiICfg-1205.zip (which really did not provide me with any useful information.) After restarting the system, I received the following errors: Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7026 Date: 19-Feb-05 Time: 10:25:20 User: N/A Computer: HOME-12 Description: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: Pnp680 ++++++ (also,...) (also to be noted, SpinRite 6.0, a DOS based harddrive maintenance tool is able to read the drive(s) ) Thanks. CAH
