cut

i dont use the cd on a dell, its from my dell, but that pc is in pieces and i have used the cd on non dell systems for a while now. do this matter? i mean do i need any of that stuff? a few months ago, i made a nlite cd, just stripped of some un-needed crap and slipstreamed sp2 (its dell oem xp pro sp1) but the system was very unstable and crashed and froze ALOT untill i used the normal cd. i decided to give it a go again after searching how to a sata drive without using a floppy, and it led me back here again

does a full unattended install start right from booting to the cd? my questions is, will it delete all partions and install windows on the whole drive, or is this the only part i actually manually do, the partioning and formating? i am asking because my drive is devided into 2, one side i store my files and the other is for OS/programs

can i just delete everything in my oem folder (dell crap) if i want?

ok i've networked computers before but this setup i have now is difficult. PC 1 - upstairs, connected to my niebor/friends network via wireless pci card, this is also my internet connection. onboard NIC connected to linksys wireless router with ICS enabled on the wireless nic. router is downstairs. ] router: linksys 54g, internet port connected to nic on PC 1. changed IP on router to other then 192.168.xxx.xxx PC 2 - connected to port 1 and connects to internet fine XBOX - connected to port 2 and connects to internet fine cant see/ connect/share files on pc1 and pc 2. both running xp pro. whats wrong?

ya ya search.. spent half the day doing that already, all i need to know is how to make transparent bitmaps, and why when i test my oem.ini and oemlogo.bmp it does not show in sys properties after i copy them to my system32 folder.. i used the directions from http://unattended.msfn.org/advanced/cosmetics/oeminfo.htm i made my logo in photoshop but it wont let me save bitmaps with transparent backrounds..

you know.. the picture in my computers properties.. i read how to do it but it did not work, also i could not make a transparent bitmap.. can anyone point me in the right direction?
