  1. マホウ -> Shihainin I feel as though roman characters would be better legible for most people
  2. I always just used the MSN Weather gadget instead. Same interface and elements but it still works after all this time with no extra tweaks needed.
  3. Try using Snappy Driver Installer, it might have something
  4. I have no clue, personally. Σ(°△°|||) I never owned a Surface go nor do I know anyone who does, and some searches don't really yield any results. I see that the Surface PRO doesn't have CSM, I don't know about the surface GO though. I was kinda throwin it out there, but seeing as it is a newer laptop (by microsoft, of all things) my wager is that it doesn't.
  5. You could attempt it the unga bunga caveman way, and make a bootable usb image, just to try it. (´• ω •`) If you can, try to install in CSM bios mode; while 7 can be installed via UEFI, modifications to the disk image will probably be needed. I also see that the storage of the laptop could potentially be an emmc drive, so if windows does not detect the drive during setup, you'd have to load your own drivers in. Though, I may be getting ahead of myself. If you really want to, I'd just recommend to try setting up from USB as is, and going from there. I advise to proceed with caution, and have a back-up plan if necessary, especially if the computer in question needs to be operational.
  6. Well, my applications still work, my hardware still works, and it does everything I need it to do, so in my case, yes. The beauty of things like this, is that something is only really usable for what you need it for personally (I know someone in person who still daily drives w2k just fine!), so if you need newer hardware or applications for your daily needs, probably not. There are some risks associated with sticking with 7, but I accept those risks and worries, as Windows 10/11 and Linux don't really do all that I need them to, while 7 still works just fine. I can see myself using it for the foreseeable future, and probably beyond as well. ヽ(・∀・)ノ
  7. This would be nice if it were true, but still this doesn't guarantee that programs and software developers will choose to continue to support Windows 7 for much longer, which is what I, at least, consider to be the primary concern in the most recent coming of years. σ( ̄、 ̄〃) If these updates exist, I would also assume they would be purely security updates targeting POS systems, ATMs, etc. that still run 7, and that Microsoft might not offer them up to the public, making it a purely enterprise kind of thing. Truth be told, most people with Common Sense™ (and an antivirus if you're paranoid) would probably do just fine using Windows 7 nowadays anyways, security-wise at least.
  8. Also, a friendly reminder to get a compatible motherboard for that processor (LGA1155). A first build can be a little daunting, but it should go well so long as you did your research. (b ᵔ▽ᵔ)b
  9. I haven't tried Elden Ring, but I have tried another patch made by the same person for MegaMix+ on 7. I (and many, many others) haven't gotten it to run on 7 unfortunately, supposedly since the game prefers DX11.1 over DX11.0. It doesn't seem to play nice with compatibility layers either. He has screenshots of it running on 7, so I'll assume that there might be something else at play. The point is, the patches he makes seem to be hit or miss depending on the game, they seem to just work or not work. Granted, I'm not too well versed in this kind of thing, so take that with a grain of salt.
  10. It really depends on what you wanna use your computer for. Id say for the most part, both 7 and Vista (with the extended kernel) are solid choices, but 7 is definitely the safer choice of the two. Drivers and software compatibility are the primary concern for the choice between the two.
