  1. What is 'SAP'? Someone asked me about it today and I discovered that I really didn't know. I've searched the web and read various things, but nothing really explains what it is or what it does. So far all I can determine is that it's a centralized structure for all incoming and outgoing data requests. Like some sort of a huge management system that controls every piece of an organization's infrastructure whether it be faxing, email, accounting, human resources, etc. What I don't get is... Is it a software application? A DB server? A group of servers all doing thier own things but managed by something greater? Is 'it' what ever I want 'it' to be? It's like trying to define The Matrix. Any help would be appreciated.
  2. From what I understand, it's disk checking method is essentially CHKDSK- which isn't working in this case. Anyone have experience with Spinrite?
  3. Additional information... Even with the bad sector everything is working fine. I'm not concerned about any data on that sector, I simply want it marked as bad so that Ghost can image it for me.
  4. I'm attempting to upgrade a harddrive, (to a larger one), with a highly proprietary application on it. It has WinXP and I atttempted to Ghost it to another physical drive but Ghost failed stating a bad sector. Scandisk at boot with sector recovery hangs at 19% and will not finish. I cannot "format and reinstall" as there is no method of reinstalling the application. Any suggestions on how to fix this sector/block issue without formatting would be greatly GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  5. WinMX and mIrc. I find it hard to trust any others.
  6. I use IE and Firefox depending on web content. For general purpose browsing I use Firefox.
  7. I use a router. I have Sygate installed, but I only use it if I suspect something is leaving my PC as opposed to coming into it, (eg. Adware/Spyware).
  8. I've used RegCleaner, Registry Mechanic (yuck), and I am currently using the one in System Mechanic 5 Pro. I'm gonna try that Crap Cleaner however. It looks interesting.
  9. But of course. Yes I am using build 61. There are no other updates available. Well, even though I've not participated, I've watched this forum for a long time and find it to be a great resource. Upon examining ACDSee's forums, I found it less that "impressive" as far as answers and responsiveness. Call me crazy, but I feel I could respect the users here and they can probably offer me better solutions.
  10. Everytime I close ACDSee, I get an application error popup with the following message... ACDSee7.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x7c911e58" referenced memory at "0x2f2f3a73". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program. The application seems to run fine and I can find no references to this problem through ACDSee support forums or knowledge base. Web searches are turning up few results too, and these types of errors can be caused by seemingly anything. This is the only program I get the error on, and I have reinstalled WindowsXP to try and eliminate it. Any help is appreciated.
