  1. Bit of a massive typo in my post sorry. ClassicTheme.exe I meant to say is what a ran when I couldn't get it working as a task. That did nothing when I double clicked on it. I'll download your file, and try that when I re-install 8.1 again. Thanks for putting up with my constant questions.
  2. Many thanks for that. I shall give it ago when I get a chance. For the ClassicTheme when I installed 8.1 the other week I followed this guide and couldn't get it working - http://winclassic.boards.net/thread/43/windows-classic-theme-resident-programs I tried running ClassicShell.exe when I was on 8.1 and nothing happened.
  3. I did not try install mode, as I couldn't figure out how to. I thought thats what the script was supposed to do for Windows 10? Ah I didn't know it was a common glitch. If I do it again, then i'll have to put up with it as that sounds like alot of effort for little reward. How do you not use transparency on it do you use another image viewer, or an older one? And not taskbar thumbnails, file thumbnails. Such as pictures, videos, etc.
  4. Your desktop looks really good. I recently tried to get it working that way under 8.1 and using that automatic script under 10. Neither worked very well for me at all. 8.1 I couldn't get to do anything despite reading and following that guide on that site for ClassicThemeA, which was a shame. And the one under 10 changed everything aside from the taskbar (that was still Windows 10 style, and gave me a transparency glitch when using photo viewer, it also turned off thumbnail generation.)
  5. Just wanted to say that for the older games, alot of them pefer a Pentium 3 machine (nothing more), and a 3DFX graphics card (so a Voodoo). Also I totally still want to get a classic PC, as I have alot of older games that I cannot run currently. I also want to say that personally I love Windows 9x, and if it could run modern games i'd be on it in a shot. As I grew up with Windows 95 and Windows ME and they blow the water out of the newer ones.
  6. This is one of the many issues I have with Windows 10. Since the release of the Anniversary update (which removed the option to disable the lock screen) i've been saying that MS seem to be taking the P away from PC. I'm aware that you can use third party tools to fix a few of the issues, but we shouldnt have to. But its not just about the lack of personalization options and customization options that annoy me with 10. Blocking of certain drivers needed for certain games to install, the constant nagging from Windows (as I set up pictures, music, etc with other programs) and every other time I go to open up a picture of something I get a message saying "Are you sure you want to keep using this app?" Then there's the apps that we cant remove (yet as proven by Noel they can be) such as the Get Help app, which is useless. Settings now has adverts in the side for the Help app, and feedback app since the creators update. Not to mention the flickering of pinned items on the taskbar whenever you interact with the recycle bin, (which is driving me crazy) and thats done it since launch and on every system thats running Windows 10 that i've seen. Then of course theres an issue which I only get under 10 where if I move alot of files around (I download alot of stuff) then I have to reboot as Windows stops displaying menus and generally starts messing about, and rebooting seems slower under 10 still. I keep debating about going back to 7 or 8.1. But I can't stand the icons on it after getting used to the flatness of 10's icons (which is one of the only things about 10 I like.)
