  1. Update: Problem solved. I turned off all the options in the Prefrences, Start menu. Buttery smooth and fast now.
  2. Thank you for your help. No difference I'm afraid.
  3. Hi all, I purchased SiB for my Win 8.1 system and loved it, so obviously I bought the Win 10 version as well. I have been largely problem free, except for a bit of a nuisance, and I'm not even sure if it is in fact a SiB problem. After a restart, or if the system has been shut down, when I go to click on the start menu, there is a pretty significant delay. Not a big deal, but very annoying. Obviously files are being loaded immediately after startup, so I even wait a few seconds, till all background programs/processes are up and running. Once the start menu loads, it's lightning fast from then on pretty much, until reboot or shutdown. I thought perhaps since I have a Samsung ssd, RapidMode could be introducing latency, but delay is there with RapidMode on or off. Gif below illustrates what I'm talking about. Thanks very much for any help, greatly appreciate it. 4. Microsoft keeps making my decision to go to Linux easier and easier. They still haven't fixed the thumbnail cache deletion problem. It's been a known problem since Vista!! Content creators like me, or really anyone with lots of photos/videos, don't want to sit and wait for thumbnails to reload after every reboot. None of the workarounds on the web work either. So frustrating!!! Glad Microsoft has their priorities straight.
  5. It appears to be true. Wouldn't be the first bone-headed move Microsoft has made.
  6. All I can say is wtf? http://winaero.com/blog/its-official-microsoft-is-killing-control-panel/
  7. Not sure if this is a bug unique to my machine or not, but thought I'd report it anyway. When I uninstall a progam, the add/remove control panel window dissapears, it takes me back to the desktop, where I can procede to unistall normally, but I loose my icons placement on the desktop. Thanks Update 07/26 Ok, it's not StartisBack. I'm guessing it's a bug in Windows. This morning I was installing a program that I did not want to be able to phone home, so I went to disable my internet. If I right click the newtork adapter icon, select disable, it screws up. The window closes, and it doesn't disable. Now if I highlight the network adapter icon, options appear in the new UI, among them disable. Clicking that, it works fine. This is exact same problem I experienced with the add/remove programs mentioned above. So this is a Windows UI issue.
  8. Thanks so much for developing a Win 10 version. Love StartisBack on my Win 8.1 installation. Is it just me, or do the icons in Windows 10 look stupid?
