i don't have a awnser for you, but it would be wise to add you winnt.sif file to your post for people to look into. MAKE SURE that you have no CD-key in the file you attache, just fill in XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX etc, any information you don't want people to know, just type in something else. In your WINNT.SIF you have to check if this: UnattendSwitch="yes" Specifies whether Setup skips Windows Welcome or Mini-Setup when preinstalling Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional using the CD Boot method. It works fine with me, i also have SP2 Is there a good reason why you take these seperate .reg files? Maybe the problem is because you have more .reg files? I am mearly suggestion options you can explore. Hope you get it fixed, cheers!

Hello, i have started making my own unattended cd 2 days ago, but i have come across some things that i can't get straightend out. 1st Power Management is gone (which is a little odd) I integrated SP2 and tested it with M. Virtual PC, but when i go to Right mouse on desktop - properties - screen protection (this is a translation of my dutch version of windows) - Energie This is were you can set the time for harddrive powerdown etc. But this button Energie is not there. Is this because i am testing it with M. Virtual PC and it is unable to detect any form of power management or am i doing something very wrong. Because i do use it. So i would like to know how it is possible to not lose that button. I tryed using nLite and doing it manually, same outcome. Here is my WINNT.SIF file: WINNT.SIF I have done a clean copy of the XPCD, integrated SP2, inserted this WINNT.SIF file and made an iso, installed the iso in M. Virtual PC and my Powermanagement is gone. 2nd SmallIcons in CLASSIC START MENU I have seen alot of regtweaks that say how to do it, but nothing has worked so far. In regtweaks2 there is the following tweak: "Start_LargeMFUIcons"=dword:00000000 This one simply doesn't work for the Classic Start Menu, i would really like to know how this can be done with the Classic Start Menu. 3th System Restore Also seen and tested and tryed alot of tweaks for this one, but it does not disable it. Should this tweak be run at T12? Because i hate to lose space to something i never ever use. 4th SmallIcons in IE I have one tweak that works if i run it in windows when it is installed, but when i run it during installation it does not work. The tweak mentioned in the regtweak2 file doesn't work eiher. The tweak that does work when you run it in windows itself and also sets windows explorer icons to small is this one: ;Sets Small ToobarIcons [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SmallIcons] "SmallIcons"="yes" But using this one in my reg file that is run during installation it doesn't work. Another question, i saw that in the tweaks file there was the following tweak i already used. But the comments say: Maximize Number of Simultaneous Connections [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings] "MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:00000040 "MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:00000040 Which if i'm correct is 64 connections... Is this indeed the maximum? Because i saw someone who had it set to 999, so i had that to. Thanks in advance! [EDIT] Oeh! Last question: For some reason when i reinstalled my pc today, i didn't get prompted i believe to fill in Profile names i want to create... So it automaticly used the Administrator account. In hope it is possible to set small icon in my Classic Menu, but i cant find out what it is... tryed alot again, no succes...

Yes you have, but then i gues i'm entering again a new field. I know this is the unattended section, for unattended CD's, but i'm only going install windows, then the SP2 and apply my .reg file. Because i had alot of tweaks in my gpedit.msc, but it is such a s***ty task to do it manually every single time i reinstall my computer. I gues Classic Theme and the Quick Launch still have to be set manually. But i managed to set almost everything in the registry now. I do know what all the tweaks do but i did not know that it could do harm to add an already excisting one. I'll just strip it down to the only needed once. I have edited my last message, just in case you haven't read that part yet. And i tryed the tweak for the internet explorer textlabels, which should be applyed at T12, but it does work if you apply it when windows is already installed. I'm working with a fresh installed pc and SP2. So making mistakes only forces me to reinstall, i won't lose anything. I thought that to be the best way to experiment with something delicate as this. So all my files are saved on a other harddrive Thanks for again a quick feedback! [EDIT] Maybe i'll go and have a look at making my own CD. Do some research on it. With slimming it down i only ment for the things that don't need to be used, like all the settings for WMP. Can it do any harm if i apply it to all of those other HK's? Or has it no effect, or can it screw things up? What could be the consequenties? About ControlSet001, all settings there can be applyed in the CurrentControlSet? Thanks for the quick feedback. Hi, i hope this is the appropriat place to ask this. When i look at the other posts, i think it is. But i have been braking my neck over my own .reg file that i can run after installation so that i don't have to set all my settings all over again manually. I have done alot already, but there are five that don't seem to work, or that i can't seem to find. 1) Enable QuickLaunch This one is in the tweak file, but that one doesn't work. I use a Classic Start Menu and Theme in case that might be of any use. I checked to see if the key "TaskbarWinXP" indeed is the key that changes when you change the QuickLaunch ON or OFF. And it ofcourse is. Problem is it doesn't save the key when i logoff or restart. I checked if it changed when i run the .reg file. It did, but after restart or logoff it was back to the value before i ran the .reg file. 2) Small Icons in Classic Start Menu. I have looked and compared reg file before and after i changed the settings, but i can't find what or how to set this to ENABLE small icons in the Classic Start Menu. 3) How do i set the time to shut down monitor. There is this option where you can set the time that the pc has to be idle in order for the monitor to shut down (go into stand by mode). It is located in the Power tab under Screensaver. Default setting is 20 minutes. I have search for this for a long time, but also nothing!. I did find some changes, but nothing worked. 4) No textlabels in Internet Explorer Can't find it 5) Classic Theme (A better way?) Also i have find out my own way to set the Classic Theme Propperly. Because i use the tweak used in one of the posts in this thread. That did change it to classic, but the colors and fonts were all incorrect. When i selected Standard Colors again (it was already on this selection, i just selected it again for the Apply button to light up again) and i applyed again. Collors and fonts changed and it was as it is suppose to be. I would like to know if that problem is common with that tweak. And if it is possible to fix it. Cause my tweak to ENABLE Classic Theme is big. The tweak that i use to disable the theme service is not the problem. I tryed it with the service on, same problem. Disabling the theme service, gives the same effect as the tweak that gives the wrong colors. <snip> Any help is appreciated, because i have searched the Internet and this forum a billion times!
