  1. Hi Latest version 1.6 works fine as expected. Thanks. However i noticed that if i don't use the option to format the USB stick using "fbinst", the resulting USB stick doesn't have the option to load "Plop boot manager" by pressing F2 during boot. That was a very useful feature as i have to occasionally dealt with older motherboards which may treat the USB stick as a super floppy or something. Booting from a standard USB stick prepared with "RMprepUSB" or "Bootice" will usually fail on these motherboards. However i can successfully boot from USB if the USB stick has your custom MBR code to load "Plop" by pressing F2. Unfortunately "WinsetupfromUSB" will only write a standard Grub4dos MBR if the disk is already partitioned/prepared using DISKPART or Bootice. I have a 32 gb flash stick with data on it. It will be great if there is a way to write your custom MBR code without formatting the stick.
  2. May be the VHD method will work for you. I never personally tested it . http://agnipulse.com/2012/11/windows-to-go-all-versions-windows-7-8/
  3. I like to organize the folder structure of my USB boot drive. All XP stuff in one folder, 7 related stuff on another folder etc. Other than that, there is no real need to do that. Thanks for the links - it will surely help me to understand Grub4DOS better. @ilko_t Thanks for the explanation. I can only assume about the amount of time you spent to polish this tool.
  4. Hi Pardon me if these questions are already asked and answered. I am a little lazy to walk-through the 84 pages . 1. What is the exact purpose of files "default" and "windefault" at the root of USB ?. Why there is a warning "The file size is 2048 bytes. Don't change the file size !!!!!!!" on it ?. While i understands that "usbdrive.tag" is just a tag file used to find the root of USB, i failed to understand the purpose of "default" file. 2. Can i change the path of "DPMS" folder ?. If i move this folder to inside of "WINSETUP" folder and modify the path references in menu file to reflect the new path ( /DPMS to /WINSETUP/DPMS), is it will work ?.
  5. Hi This fantastic tool only came to my knowledge just few days ago.I should say that i am very impressed. Keep up the good work mate .
  6. Hi JFX and Atari800XL Finally got a chance to test XP with driver pack mass-storage integrated. Worked perfectly as expected . @Atari800XL Would you mind sharing from where i can download the unofficial SP4 and how to integrate it to XP SP3 MSDN edition ?.
  7. Thanks for the quick reply "Atari800XL". It is good to know that driver pack integrated XP disc will work out of the box with "WinntSetup". I will practically check it and report my findings soon . Would you mind explaining the purpose of "Run Driverpack Base" option ?.
  8. Hi JFX "WinntSetup" works nice as expected to install XP, 7 and 8.x. In my line of work, some times i have to deal with older boards which requires F6 SATA driver. Currently i use DPS Masstorage pack integrated setup CD to install XP on them. The disc is prepared with default DPS Base settings ( i don't remeber which is the default method - 1 or 2 ) . Can i use this disc as a source with "WinntSetup" ?. Alternatively is it possible to use a regular unmodified XP as source and provide SATA divers via the "Add Drivers" option ? ( DPS Masstoage pack extracted ?). Also i wonder what is the purpose of "Run DriverPack Base" tick box.
  9. JFX , a noob question. How to create a XP wim file to use this feature ?. May i need to use imagex to capture an installed XP ?.
  10. Hi Thanks for the file list mate. What about the registry ?.
  11. Hi kullenen-ask Your Windpws8.1 RAM OS looks great. Will you please give us a small guide on how to do it manually. I means which files needed to be added, which registry keys needed to be imported/Modified etc. Thanks in advance .
