  1. Do I uninstall my previous AG 8.1 ver. 1.1 and install ver. 1.2, or can I install and overide ver. 1.1 to 1.2 ?
  2. Is the glow effect working NOW Settings for glow effect: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]"TextGlowMode"=dword:00000003[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]"TextGlowMode"=dword:00000003Try numbers from 1 to 3 Well, it WORKED. What a real rollercoaster ride for me. I had to remove it, uninstall AG8.1v1.1 and restart OS, returned to W8, applied the theme that raiden89 mentioned, got it working in the text glow part, re-installed AG8.1v1.1 and all is well. Thank you, Ace2 for your held and thanks Raiden89 for the uxTheme. I'm using both uxTheme and ClassicShell, so... keeping my fingers crossed.
  3. The only way i have solved this problem was to download a 3rd party theme with the glow built in, like Soft8 VS Theme.I use MSStyler to edit only the glow related values. It doesn't recompile or alter the theme in any way except for the values you change (I did a binary comparison). It's a bit crude to use but it gets the job done. If you are willing to use an unsigned theme and bypass theme signature checking, it's the ultimate solution to get full glow in all windows regardless of the theme (set TextGlowMode to 3 for Aero Glass). I have attached an animated image that shows how it looks with the default theme for both ribbon-enabled and normal windows (there's actually no difference). These are the values to be changed: Class ID: 4 Part ID: 0 State ID: 0 Class: globals Property Type: GLOWINTENSITY:INT Property Value: 250 Class ID: 4 Part ID: 0 State ID: 0 Class: globals Property Type: TEXTGLOWSIZE:INT Property Value: 12 Class ID: 209 Part ID: 0 State ID: 0 Class: CompositedWindow::Window Property Type: GLOWINTENSITY:INT Property Value: 250 Class ID: 209 Part ID: 0 State ID: 0 Class: CompositedWindow::Window Property Type: TEXTGLOWSIZE:INT Property Value: 12 I'm still having trouble getting the glow effect under AeroGlass' side. I tried it under UXTheme, and the glow is there, but when I apply it, the glass theme goes out of whack. Should I not be using the AG and UXTheme at the same time? See attached: I'm torn between two obstacles: liking BM's shiny glass theme and Aero 8.1 theme which is causing me all this trouble.
  4. I like to echo on this too. I tried it under AeroGlassConfigurator and no glow, so...
  5. Thanks for the update. I have a question, in regards to what NoelC said: While checking through the registry: my AeroGlass is listed under HK_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\...\DWM Is it okay that I have it there, or should it be under HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\..., where I only see Default and nothing else? Just wanting to know.
  6. Hello. I don't mean to ask the same question and apologize in advance, but how can I get the text to glow? I tried the configurator and nothing happens. Can someone help me here? Thanks, J
  7. Is there any way to enable text glow? Do I have to go in to edit to registry?
  8. Would my license key, previously from my donation to the program - while in the Windows 8 version, work on the new version? I installed the AG 8.1 with no problems, so I assume it's okay. Just wanted to know.
  9. Thanks NoelC for the info. I'm on Windows 8 now with AG 8 1.2, had purchased a license and wanted to know. I will certainly come back for updates.
  10. Thanks for the info. I take it will be an update... so. I still want to know: If I tend to go to 8.1, do I uninstall AeroGlass 8 1.2 and do a fresh one of the Pre-Release, and will I need to get a new key for it? Just wanted to know.
  11. RTM... hmmm wondering the same thing. It's a joke, right? Don't tell me that we'll have an 8.2?!? What will M$ think up next?
  12. To Bigmuscle: I have purchase donation for the Windows 8 (version 1.2) Aero Glass, do I need to purchase another and obtain a key to use the 8.1 version? I returned back to the original Windows 8, after some problems not pertaining to AG. Thanks
