Hi i have a strange problem.... I just installed fresh windows xp sp2 and i have some weird problems i get Services and Controller app error then the computer automaticly shuts down in 60 sec..... I read other forums and they suggested that it could be a sasser worm or a hardware malfunction.... It's true that i recently installed a new HDD in my computer (wd 250gb got it for free).. Hello my friend just bought a new rig: Intel core2duo 6550 radeon 3870 sapphire (512mb) 4gb of ram DDR2 asus mobo and so on Ammm and he's expiriencing overheating with radeon 3870 card (like 90 degress). Is this beacuse he didn't listen to me and bought a crappy PSU ? He bought a LCpower 550W PSU. I told him to go with enermax 550w or chieftec 550w or more. I still didn't exclude the possibility of crappy psu because 3870 requires at least 20amps (i think i hope i didn't get this wrong ) i think his PSU dosen't have enough amps to run his computer and his card struggles with insufficent amps? What do you think? I think his 3870 card shouldn't heat so much. Forgot to mention he has a good case with fairly good air flow and that GPU heats only at some specific games (crysis and other hardware greedy games). Thnx

Im having very weird problem! I usually play COD4 and COD2 over Xfire. This week im having this weird problem. Xfire just dosen't remember anything that i put into in. For example if i change skin it will be deafult skin on next run. If i enter password and username and click remember me box the Xfire just dosen't remember and i must fill password and username again. Every time i run COD2 or COD4 the graphic settings are reset. Every now and then RANK settings in COD4 reset by itself and i must play from rank 1 ! And this dosen't occur just in Xfire, COD2 and COD4 but every now and then and when computer feels like it. I just doesn't understand. Could it be Malware or Spyware or something like that???? Please help m16si

Since i bought new rig the nec 4550a doesn't work anymore... It burns but it doesn't read any disc (i know this because i have DVD-rom NEC 5800c) So i joined KLUB CD FREAKS forum and there is about 1.000 post about this problem and nobody has any any clue (i tried flashing reflashing, uninstalling dvdrw,...) http://club.cdfreaks.com/f86/nec-optiarc-d...roblems-209168/ But as i looked deeper into this problem i noticed that it has something to do with atapi.sys (because discs work just not under xp sp2) So im thinking about these solutions: - Deleting Atapi.sys in sys32 (will this make windows installation unbootable or will it crash the system?) - Replacing Atapi.sys So i am kindly asking anyone that has fairly fresh WIN XP SP2 installation.. . I recently noticed that i have about 465M/3940M Commit charge. It used to be 150M.... WTF ? How can i reduce this number i don't even know which program takes so much resources. I didn't found nothing in Task Manager there must be something else some hidden programs. I have just a few programs installed (skype, bitdefender, AVG anti-spyware these are always running). A couple of days ago i bought a HDD cooler and i played with windows a little! I also changed virtual memory size! And since then games, programs, appz,... all work very very strange i have this weird staggering in games like when i play NFS pro street demo the game doesn't run smooth and staggers that the game is bearly playable. Same goes to COD4 and other games i play. Is it because i changed virtual memory or something. One more question what is the optimum virtual memory size (I have 1GB DDR ram) ? Thnx
