  1. I'm getting a new convertible laptop (one that you can detach the monitor from, and use as a tablet). Can I install aeroglass on it? Would it work while the machine works as a laptop? (When used as a tablet, obviously it won't work as it will be using the metro interface.) Would there be any issues when detaching or reataching the screen?
  2. I tried the GUI, and it is quite well made. The changes are visible immediately, so it is easy to know what causes what to change. This should help improve useability immensely. One thing I noticed while using it is that changing the blur radius to zero creates non-blurred transparency as expected, but using any other value gives the same blur, irrespective of the value used. I get the same bur that I had set on my system before using this GUI, which was 10.
  3. I installed this on two laptops, with almost identical configurations. It is working on both, but I am able to adjust blur and transparency only on one laptop. On the second one, no matter what value I give for blur deviation, it stays pretty blurred - even if I change it to zero. I have tried adjusting values manually via registry, as well as with MrGrim's aero configurator, but the blur stays the same. I have intel hd graphics on both, and on the second laptop, I also have an Nvidia card in addition. The second laptop is the one on which blur doesn't reduce.
  4. Then I suppose there was a point to putting the picture on the thread/
  5. You might want to change the default folder to C:\Aeroglass, since that is what BM's software installs itself into.
  6. I am running it on my laptop. Toshiba C-640, Core i5, hd3000.
  7. Thanks for the option to control blur deviation. It looks beautiful with blur deviation set to 10 or 15. This tool plus 'startisback' makes windows 8 what Microsoft should have made it in the first place. BTW the guide mentions two options, one to control color intensity and one to control opacity. How are these options different? I thought opacity/transparency is to be controlled by the color intensity sider, which means they do the same thing? What's the difference?
  8. I don't understand. For free users, isn't it better to use version .95 than version 1.0, since the former supports automatic downloading of DWM symbols, whereas the latter doesn't, and both have the popup message? Why migrate to 1.0? Any advantage?
  9. Oh, OK. The reason I asked is because when I set the color to automatic, the color of the windows changes according to the changing desktop backround. And since I have set my wallpaper to change automatically every few hours, I rather like that feature of automatically matching window color. But NP, the glass effect is more important, so I shall choose a particular color and lower the intensity. What about blur? In the earlier versions, there was an option to control the blur (I was using one of the agtweaker apps to do it). Is it not possible anymore? I personally like to have a little less blur, so that I can (just about) read the text behind a window.
  10. I understand that the way to control transparency now is to adjust the "Color intensity" in control panel. However, this is not possible if I select 'automatic color' - the color intensity slider does not appear any more. So is there a way to control (increase) transparency, while selecting 'automatic color' option? For the record, if I choose any specific color instead of automatic, the procedure to adjust transparency via 'color intensity' works well. Also, is there a way to change (decrease) blur?
  11. I did not have any problems until V.92, but since I installed 0.93, all my icons for videos and pictures seem to be broken. That is, the icons seem invisible, except for the filename written underneath. If I click an icon, the whole area seems to get "selected", so the icon is still there, just invisible. And this has (AFAIK) happened only to icons of images and videos. Other icons seem to be working normally. Any idea how to fix this issue? Edit: It's not just icons (thumbnails) that seems to be broken. I cannot see pictures when I try to change the desktop background. I can only see the filenames. If I click on one, the desktop background changes successfully. But I cannot see them displayed as pictures. Opening a picture or video does not seem to be an issue either, my media player and image viewer can open them. Windows just doesn't display them, either as thumbnails, or in this other instance.
