Running 14257 and its Ok. No bugs with aero glass since now

It still freezes up my system.   :(

works ok - not tested it extensively but its not locked up or frozen my system - its a pretty clean install with nothing else added so maybe that helps

Which build of Aero Glass are you using with build 14257? Just like dj, I get locked up too.

the latest - downloaded from the site today - i do not have a licence for the laptop its on so run with watermark and all that goes with it - no symbols but no idea if they are available for that build of windows - 64bit by the way

Thanks, I thought it might be one of the earlier debug builds, that I'm tempted to try.

I wish someone would change the name of this sub forum to the latest build number of AG or start a new one.

  3. Hello Bigmuscle,

i'm currently using three computers, and i got 5 keys from you. Recently i updated all my 3 computer to 10586, and one of them has new BIOS and clean installation of WIN10. But after that Aeroglass requires new keys for that.

Could you please deactivate those keys are not being used currently?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello hongda.j,

You can go to this page where you may control your keys.

  4.

But why even install it, when you can have the blur like I posted above?  Here is a partial screen shot with blur in start menu, task bar, title bars, and no classic shell!

    screenshot_20.png

Splendid! If that's your preference - you surely go ahead with it. This doesn't make Classic Shell, though, all these things you've written about it. Classic Shell gives you a lot of capabilities besides transparent task bar and start menu.  Also, a bit of respect to CS developer and its users wouldn't hurt.

Of couse you're right! I really treasure the software and recommed it whenever the subject comes up.

Why using Aero Glass makes Microsoft Edge titlebar appear instead of combining with tab bar? How to restore previous behaviour whilst still using Aero Glass?

Microsoft Edge is modern app and thus its frame is added by ModernFrame.dll. If you don't want this titlebar then do not use modernframe.dll. It is not possible to combine it with tab bar.

Can ModernFrame.dll be made to ignore Microsoft Edge completely?

IMO it's really not needed when using the black theme.

I like what it does with the Edge browser.

  7. Build #160 - probably one of the last development debug builds has been published on my website.

Build 160 works fine in Win10 Build 10525 once all your  warnings are cleared.

Even ModernFrame works except for the Edge browser's top right buttons are invisable but still work.

Also the frame stays black using the black theme.

All in all, I like it.

To each his own - One man's garbage is another man's art :)

And that's what Microsoft didn't understood yet. It is good to try new things and every design will have it's fans, but poeple are different - MS can't just force people to like their design when MS change its mind so often and seem never happy with what design they have ...

Interesting read - search this guy out and see what he has to say: Danny Oran

Just installed the new Classic Shell menu and I'm very impressed.

There are some very nice settings for the taskbar too.

Plays very nice with Aero Glass, also.

why install Windows 10 if you are going to use Classic Shell:

I guess you never tried it.

Take a chance, you may like it.

I set it so I can use the stock (MS) menu with just a middle click of my mouse brings it up.

And, just for what you can do with the taskbar settings, it' well worth installing it.

So, try it. You can uninstall it if you don't like it.

LOL, why would I go back to a start menu which I hated?  The windows 7 start menu is horrible.  I love the Windows 10 Start Menu. It is in the realm of the gods!

  11. This stability-testing debug build for 10240.

It contains some internal changes, new features etc. but it is not fully finalized yet so I don't describe it now. The only intention is to test the stability now.

(Win8-like atlas theme is distributed with it)

    Thanks BigMuscle.

It's working fine for me also.

Even got ModernFrame working with it, although not with MS Edge.

  12. Here the software just found some of the symbols - but not all - and dropped into a DWM crash/reset loop.

Edit:  Actually, looking over debug.log I see that later in one of the reboot loops it successfully got the dwmcore.pdb file downloaded.

Without the Aero Glass toolset I find I've lost all will to run Win 10.  Yes, it means that much.  Big Muscle, if there's anything I can do to help you, please let me know.

    -Noel

OMG, I see exactly the same thing and feel the same about Win10.

Please help me too, BigMuscle.

  13. @NoelC I have a clean installation with this build 10166.  Could you post a link to the themeatlas image you are using?  Sorry I see your link!   :angel

OK. I have 10166 with the 10130 debug files, also the UXThemeSignatureBypass.  I loaded your themeatlas, and get this:

    screenshot_4.png

    Without themeatlas, I get this:

    screenshot_5.png

I think you're using a third party theme and you just can't use any theme atlas with it.

It's just one or the other.

  14.

Thanks bigmuscle, I was about to give up on Win10.

    Working great on build 10147.

Do you have transparency on 10147?  If you did could you explain the steps you took to achieve it?

It wasn't until I put in my correct donation key in c:\aeroglass along with BMs new files and the schedule.bat to start it all up.

Nothing different than I normally do. Don't forget the slider shortcut "%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,Advanced,@Advanced".

Also, you need a transparent themeatlas.

    Such as these:

Plus BM was kind enough to not have his watermark visible.
