  3. thanks Whampoom, that looks like a good option that would just require me to do a little work at the end does anyone know if it would be possible to automate TCP Optimizer or knows what set of commands it uses to do what it does so I wouldn't have to use a GUI? thanks!
  4. i took a winntbbu.dl_ from this site on the forum: http://s86953812.onlinehome.us/winntbbu/ I then expanded it, replaced 185,186,187,188 with 9X9 256 color bitmaps. Replaced 103 with a 256 bitmap. Used the updated color program and the new updated batch file. Checked twice with search for any winntbbu.* in I386 and there were none. Placed the resulting file from the batch program *winntbbu.dl_ into I386 and burned it...
  5. I need to accomplish this: (A) action: Install Windows XP SP1. ® result: Unable to save large files to MAC Samba Server. © cause: TCP/IP's Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) is not being negotiated correctly. ® resolution: Configured the MTU in the registry to 1460 (or 1500) in the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\<ID for Adapter> MTU - REG_DWORD - 1460 (or 1500) (dec) Is there any registry setting that will add the MTU key to every adapter on the system? 6. I am trying to setup a install cd for a small business environment. I have 20+ computers which I would like to be able to blow away and reinstall in 1 1/2 hours without any interaction from me. With all of the knowledge on this board i have gotten this far but I don't see any information on this one. How would I give permissions to a AD (Active Directory) group to be power users or administrators of the local computer without me manually configuring the setting? thanks... mike
  7. Ok So I customized a known working winntbbu.dll file. I expanded it with "expand -r winntbbu.dl_" and got a new file. I opened it in ResEdit (the one recommended can remember the name) and replaced the files with my bitmaps. I did not call them the same thing, does that matter? Anyways I saved it, replaced, and opened it in the Color Changer. Changed my colors clicked applied. Successful. Then I opened that batch command that was fixed yesterday and it said "have a good day" etc. I took the new winntbbu.dl_ file placed it in my I386 folder and made the iso. Then I opened in in Virtual PC (on a mac actually) and I get the "The file winntbbu.dll was not copied correctly. The file Setup placed on your hard drive is not a valid Windows XP system image." The date on the file is Aug 23, 2001, 9:00 AM so I know that batch file worked. I don't know what I could have done wrong because I have done it multiple times. It is attached bellow copied directly from the iso. Thanks mike WINNTBBU.DL_
