Same here. I have to turn off the beautiful eye candy to play with a good framerate and non-laggy mouse. Whatever bigmuscle is trying his best. Lets just wait for the full release. He's generous enough to let us use it before the release!

I don't know if this will help at all, but it's worth a shot. I got transparency with this program called: TrueTransparency With the picture provided you can see I got the aero theme on one window but explorer.exe stays the same. Bigmuscle do you plan to implement the flip 3D effect still? or is that long gone?

The aero and blur work just fine in the new preview! Only problem is that my windows are clear and no other color.

Yeah, text glow effect is just a part of aero theme resource. The problem is when I simply copy the glow glyph from RP to RTM (and enable new image in my utility), the glow appears but it seems that it ignores its alpha channel. Although image contains alpha channel and shaders and blend states are same as in RP. Will be more work than I thought I managed to import the Windows 7 theme and also messed with some of the images to bring back a glow effect on the caption buttons, the default Windows 7 theme is so ugly though lol WOAH! What theme is that! so cool.

I need some help. I don't know how you all got v0.4 to work. When I load it up its opaque, SO I go to the regestry editor to look for the registries. I didint find them there. So I made them and set the values like in the picture drakenabarion posted. Still I get no results, as of now I deleted what I entered in the registry editor.

I downloaded the newest preview but I don't get the registry edit for setting the DeviceFeatureLevel to 9100. Any Help?

It works. But please give me some answers about the lag, win 7 aero runs fine with GPU desktop clock profile... After closing the loader the windows are still laggy Because this isn't the native implementation, and is probably slightly less efficient because he has to use workarounds to achieve a similar result. Relax and give him some time to get it to beta stage before you start complaining. You should be grateful that the person doing all the (extremely difficult) work got it to work at all I agree 100%. If it wasn't for bigmuscle we would still be crying over how we miss aero!

Kind of. You still need to patch your system since this is considered a customized theme. I recommend either UxTheme (http://www.softpedia...tiPatcher.shtml), or UxStyle (http://uxstyle.com/b...mental_bits.zip). Actually, you don't even need to patch your system. The actual theme file used in the release preview is in the same file format as the current build. Since the theme for Release Preview was digitally signed by Microsoft, that means you can use the real .msstyles file from Windows 8 Release Preview in Windows 8 RTM without patching of any kind. Note, this only works in the release preview. Wait so are you saying its not possible at all to do it in the rtm version? I have seen youtubers use it and their build was 9200 like mine. Unless automatic updates changed it (which I doubt)

Do I create a folder called "AeroRP" also and put it into the themes folder? Or what? The "Aero" folder from the RP must be renamed to "AeroRP". The theme file must also be renamed to "AeroRP". That's the Windows Basic theme. That loads when Windows cannot locate the theme files. When unpatched Windows tries to load a customized theme, it sometimes corrupts it. Try replacing the files and try again. Do I create a folder called "AeroRP" also and put it into the themes folder? Or what?

I did everything and patched my system but It gave me a different looking theme Send me a screenshot. Make sure it's from the RP. The Development Preview and the Consumer Preview themes will cause DWM to crash, sometimes permanently. Ok here it is.
