It is perfectly legal to purchases a xp cd without a cd key even if it is a bit hard to find, there are several reasons for purchasing MEDIA ONLY copys of XP, for example I own a computer shop and need the CDs to be able to work on computers without the need of purchasing the keys or to replace damaged CDs. As long as the key you are using is the only used on that system and and has never been used on any other system (even if has been now deleted) and you haven't made any significant hardware changes then you are within the EULA. /fugg

@evilvoice.. no probs, i just use the burning rom, none of the other parts of te prog, thats why i shrunk it. and mine works great, i just followed the guide, the only thing my batch does is deletes some files, other then that it follows it (im just lazy so i do everything in batch files so i can redo em if need be with any extra work) /fugg

@Becko: Are you ending up with an nero6601-Lite7z.exe file? if so... to make it silent run it as so... from CD nero6601-Lite7z.exe -y -o"%SystemDrive%\temp" from HDD nero6601-Lite7z.exe -y any problems let me know /fugg

along with the install file, don't forget to use the reg file. maybe that is your problem.. /fugg

Nope, it works with any valid Nero 6 key That is most cool I have a valid key...so....woohoo! 8-) Now, do I have to install my boxed Nero, and then apply the updates, or are these nero downloads the complete programs? they are the complete programs /fugg

ok i think i got it all figured out... No longer gives the audio CD plugin errors, or the error on reboot. or the DOS REM errors. Cuts off about 9.5MB Just remember to replace the PATH with your path to winrar & replace the serial (near the bottom) with yours Save as a batch file in the same folder as your nero6601.exe install file (Example: go.bat) When run it should unpack nero6601, replace the uneeded files, then repack into an new exe already commented Only problem I've found is when you install it creates shortcuts for all the Nero programs, and all are not installed. To fix this just add DEL "nero6601\setup\shortcut.dll" to the Removing unneeded files section & >>"nero6601\setup\shortcut.dll" ECHO. to the Creating empty files section only problem with that is, now you don't have any shortcuts... My suggestion is just to add them manully during XP install such as: Make a "$OEM\$Docs\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Nero" folder on the CD Then put the shortcut file (that points to the nero.exe) into that folder. here it is... I works as in it creates the 0 byte files, but the install (for me) isn't, when i tested it it origanaly i already had nero installed. Now that ive uninstalled nero, when it runs it doesn't allow audio CD creation, nero errors out. I'm going to do some testing toninght and repost a new batch file. /fugg
