Hi guys, I tried doing a search on the forums but found nothing about this problem I've been having. Basically, I have different versions of the winnt.sif for different users/computers that I install to. To burn a particular version, say for "James", I would simply call up my Nero compilation, and drag "winnt_james.sif" into the i386 folder of my compilation, and rename it to "winnt.sif" However, lately, after having made a number of modifications (too many to keep track of, actually), I keep going through setup as if the winnt.sif file doesn't even exist on my burned DVD. The setup goes to the "Welcome to Setup: To setup Windows XP now, press Enter." etc etc. It even asks for my reg-key again, when it should've read it from winnt.sif! What usually happens (when my compilation was working), is that setup goes straight to the part where I choose my installation partition. There is ONE version of my winnt.sif that works, but here's the scary part. If I open it via Noteapd (like I usually do), and save it under another filename (as usual), it no longer works!! For example... if I open up winnt_working.sif, and save it as winnt_no_longer_working.sif, and then dragged that file into my Nero compilation (after deleting the existing one in the compilation), and rename it to winnt.sif (again, only in the compilation), it doesn't work anymore. It should be the same file, no?? I'm very confused right now This wouldn't be the first time that I had edited the winnt.sif, so I'm not realy THAT big of a n00b . I even tried setting the winnt.sif as "high priority" in Nero, to no avail. Any help is appreciated!
