  1. Ok. I still could not print screen, not sure why. But as mentioned I started from scratch. I have the following: 1. Copied Office files from the CD to my Source file for nLite: H:\XPCD\$OEM$\Office2003. Also the unattended.mst is located here. XPCD is my Source. 2. Batch.cmd is also with my Source file for nLite. In it I have: REM Office 2003 start /wait %Source%$OEM$\Office2003\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=unattended.mst /qn shutdown -r -t 70 -c "Restarting in..." -f 3. Office CD is in Tray. Also, both of the above are NOT in the i386 folder but next to the i386 along with other typical Windows files. Mobes
  2. SpoiledBrat. I'm sure I'm making this more difficult than it really is. I've tried to figure out how to make a screenshot my working folder but cannot figure out how to. I definitely have the $OEM$ folder at the root of my Source file as well as the Batch.cmd file. They are not in the i386 folder. When you say call through nLite the batch file from the CD, do you mean physically having the CD in the tray? The Office files are located in the $OEM$ filepath mentioned before on my HDD (H:). I thought once the Office Files were copied to the HDD I would not need the CD?? I'm feeling pretty . Although, I'm sure I'll get it! Mobes
  3. Actually, the Batch.cmd (batch file) and my Office files are located with the i386 and remaining Windows files (clean source). That was why I didn't use %source%. Do I need to use the file path to my Batch.cmd in the Run Once, ie. cmd /r %H%:\XPCD\batch.cmd? Thanks
  4. Ok. Gave it a shot and the run once did not work for me. I'm sure I don't have the correct path. Windows installed just fine. I do have the $OEM$\$1\install\Applications\OfficeXP file path with the Office files included in my Source File. Batch.cmd is also included in my Source File. I'm attaching my Last Session for you to take a look at. Thanks, Mobes LAST SESSION.INI
  5. Good morning or evening! Working on it now. H is the hard drive I'm working from. But, my filepath to the Office files is the one I setup from the tutorial I used "H:\XPCD\$OEM$\$1\install\Applications\OfficeXP". Seems I should be using this, right? The above file path is currently at the root of the H HDD. Should I essentially have $OEM$\$1\Applications\OfficeXP next to the i386 folder? This would put my Office files along with the "unattended.mst" with my Source files. Do I still need to have this? I feel like I'm slowly getting there! But, slow is better than not getting there! Thanks to your assistance. :DI know this probably isn't the forum, but I would like to understand the commands and what they perform. I'm sure that will help me too. Thought I would share what I have before going too much further. In my Source Folder I added the following: batch.cmd with the following commands: REM Office 2003 start /wait H:\install\Applications\OfficeXP\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=unattended.mst /qn shutdown -r -t 70 -c "Restarting in..." -f I also added the folders, $OEM$\Office2003. These are empty. Shouldn't my Office files be in the $OEM$\Office2003?? Sorry for the extremely long post! I really do appreciate your help. This has been a great learning experience! Thanks Mobes
  6. Hey SpoiledBrat, Pls bear with me. Since I do already have the Office files copied to my hard drive, how will that change the command? I'm also confused as to where the batch.cmd folder and $OEM$ folder are supposed to be placed. When you say next to I386 is that in my Clean Source before nlite? I did create the batch.cmd file with the exact commands you listed. I now have it saved to my desktop. Will the commands change since my source is not the disk? Thanks! Mobes
  7. Ok. This is going to probably sound pretty dumb. But, where exactly do I create the batch file and how do I create it? Is it in notepad? Also not sure what you mean by "next to i386" and "next to batch.cmd"?? This is where my source files for Office are located including my unattended.mst H:\XPCD\$OEM$\$1\install\Applications\OfficeXP Is the $OEM$ folder you mention below in addition to the one I mention? Thanks
  8. Just finished a revised ISO and everything looked good! I was able to test the ISO in Virtual Box. I have started working on Office 2003. I am following an Unattended Office from MSFN. I have gotten to the boot command and the batch commands and would like more detail on that and how it is integrated as part of the Win ISO. Thanks again for the help. I will be making another ISO for my desktop. Mobes
  9. Correct. no lsass error! I will do as you suggest and will report back. Thanks
  10. Thanks SpoiledBrat. I'm reviewing the info. So, I would also create a separate nlited install for my desktop computer with specific drivers, right? Also, I did have a particular problem when trying to access Add/Remove Progs. I got Error: Parser message. Value creation failed at line 451. How can I resolve this prior to creating a new ISO? How can I resolve this before creating another ISO? Thanks again, Mobes
  11. SUCCESS!! After a bit more research based on help from you guys, I was able to successfully install Win XP SP3 in Virtual Box. I'm attaching my Last Session for review. Going through the install process, I was stopped to answer questions regarding Regional Settings and Network Setup. Is there a way to bypass these?? Also, I checked for MS Updates and found the following: KB892130 KB2479943 KB890830 KB2483614 KB2495644 Can I include these in my install and how? I did have a particular problem when trying to access Add/Remove Progs. I got Error: Parser message. Value creation failed at line 451. How can I resolve this prior to creating a new ISO? Also, under Display Properties the Windows Buttons option only showed Classic Style. There was not an option for XP. Can you assist with these few items? Also, what other things would you suggest to further customize? I did not integrate any drivers. If I integrate the Drivers for my laptop will that prevent me from using the disk on any other computer?? I'm not clear how this affects a clean installation. BTW, I did create from a clean source, slipstreamed SP3 and only included OnePiece post XP3 for an add-on. I'm very excited that this worked and looking forward to trying a bit more to further enhance! LAST SESSION.INI
  12. Thanks guys! I am going to start from scratch and really do some homework regarding the add-ons. Just to make sure I understand, my clean source would be considered the files I copied from the cd to my hard drive, right? Then I can import previous settings used and make additional changes to test an additional image, right? I am using VirtualBox as well to test. I love this forum and the information. I'm just trying to learn as much as I can. I will let you know how it works out or if more questions! Sorry for the double post!!

  14. Hey thanks GrofLuigi! So, should I begin by integrating WMP, .Net and IE8 followed by those Updates? I may just attempt without any additional updates and once I have a good working disk and start adding from there. Can you clarify "clean source" and not using nlite more than once on the same source?? I wasn't clear on what that meant. Thanks Mobes
  15. Hello, I am slowly progressing towards creating my unattended Win XP Pro cd. I just recently integrated SP3 to the program and have added I believe all of the KB's from Microsoft Update up to SP3. I thought I would test this version before spending more time on it. I did have one interesting mssg during install - MSVBVM60.dll could not install. It gave me the option to retry, exit or I believe ignore. I chose to retry and then it continued. I believe it was installed?? No other issues until it finished and Windows began to reboot. I was getting: 1. ISASS.exe error 2. Write operation was attempted after volume was dismounted At this point, Windows kept attempting to restart and came back to these errors. There was also an error regarding "not enough resources" but I could not catch all of the wording before it began to reboot again. I am using an older Dell machine that previously had WinXP Home edition installed. Can someone please review my Last Session.ini? I did see a similar post where it may have to do with some of the patches and hotfixes.... Thanks! Summary: Thread is pretty long, but contains good info from spoiledbrat! I could have successfully completed much quicker except for not realizing I needed to use SETUPPRO.exe in my batch.cmd instead of SETUP.exe and also I inadvertently skipped past the step in creating the unattended.mst where you need to include the Product Key! I'll call it a rookie mistake! Last Session.ini
  16. Thanks for the quick response! I'll ask the moderator move the topic and review your info. Again, thanks.
  17. Please bear with me as I'm new to this forum. I believe I'm posting in the right forum... I just recently began using Nlite to create an XP cd. I had minimal problems until Nlite began installing patches and updates since SP3. I had a few fail. I had also included the latest Java update, Office 2003 updates and WMP11 all of which failed. I believe after further investigation those items need to be included in a different manner. I did go ahead and build the ISO regardless of the errors believing that it would not impact the install. I am using Virtual Box to test. When I attempted to install XP on the VM, it appeared to go through the normal process of formatting the disk, copying the files and then downloading. When finished it attempted to restart Windows. At this point, I expected to go to the Windows XP screen and eventually the Desktop. However, what happened was it seem the process looped back to copying the Windows files again and never did Start Windows. Now, I will tell you that I am running this VM on limited resources. I only have 512mb of ram on the Host and during the install process the process stopped due to the Host not having enough memory to allocate. I did adjust Settings on the machine to lower the ram below the 192mb recommended. Sorry for the LONG description. I would like to know of any specifics on avoiding the Patch install errors, installing WMP11 and Office 2003. Also, I wonder if XP was not starting due to the limitations of my resources?? I am excited about creating my own XP disk and look forward to learning more. Thanks in advance. Please let me know of any additional info needed.
  18. Hello, I kinda consider myself a geek with a lot to learn. This looks like a great place to interact and learn. Looking forward to it!
