hey guyz I donno , last couple of dayz i'm having a rough time with : HDD + CD Writer Driver + IDE Cables I solved my (Samsung HDD Problem; Delayed Write Failed) which I posted it but now I'm facing a problem with my LG CD-R/RW Driver 24x, I bought a real good IDE Ultra DMA Cable (MSI) with the 80 wire - 80 pins I'm connecting both the CD RW and the HDD into Secondary IDE Channel the CD WR is Master , the HDD is Slave the HDD is working fine now with the Ultra DMA Mode 3, but the CD RW always in PIO mode! which causing me a problem whenever I Burn or Reading from the CD, everthing become slow and Sluggish!............I read the Manual and the Officla Site of LG it Said: Data Transfer Rate: Burst ATAPI (Which I don't know what it means!); 16.67 MBs /s (PIO Mode4) 16.67 MBs /s (Multi DMA - Mode 2) & from little experince : PIO is Evil! , Ultra DMA is Good! so how can I turn my LG Writer into DMA?! I'm waiting for my heroS! thanx guys in advanced

Hey another controversial poll! Plz guyz we need everyone to put his experince in this thing : The Registry Cleaning & Maintenance So which software you felt SAFE, SMOOTH, RELIABLE, LESS CRAPPY! And the next restart of windows after cleaning, you didn't have strange stuff on your PC, Like nero damaged, PerfectDisk not usable anymore. VirtualCD acting like a freak! ....etc Q: are you one of those that don't CLEAN their Reg regularly? and why? If you use another software not listed above, let us know about it
-
thanx Zxian, and I found my IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers on PIO Only I think a 100% it's the cause, Now I set it to DMA if Available till now , I moved alot of data to/from my HDD 160 , nothing wrong happened

Oh dear! but when I read the artice , if gave some comfort, since It relate this error to the type of Cable, I was thinking it could be from the IDE Cable becoz it's a large HDD I'm using an ordinary 40wire-40 pins cable, so is it possible if I use the 80 wire - 40 pins IDE cable (That rigid one right?) my hdd will stop acting strange?! is this 80 wire - 40 pins cable? also I need wha's the best software for checking HDD for errors and bad sectoers + Fixing them? I tried Error-Checking when I right-click on my HDD, but it stopped somewhere and appearing the dreaded (Delayed Write Failed...etc)! I found this useful artice Called: Do I HAVE to use an 80 wire IDE cable for my hard drive? http://www.neoseeker.com/Hardware/faqs/kb/15,28.html

Wow! , that's really a very good idea! but man, I'm afraid when you put all your eggs in one basket, isn't that risky? LOL

thanx guyz again and you really helped me out everything went fine, and I want to share my little trip in my (My HDD at risk!): read here to know the diferrent between Basic disk and Dynamic disk ( note that winXP HOME edition doesn't support Dyanamic disk ) : http://www.petri.co.il/difference_between_...p_2000_2003.htm Read here to know how to convert Dynamic disk to Basic disk : http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...;309044&sd=tech I did exactly what Microsoft Support said, Man! I moved about a Hundered giga of My Files! I was so bored! LOL but then I reformated it into (Cool) BASIC However guyz, what do you recommend me about Partitioning my Samsung 160 GBs, 7200 RPM , Not System HDD? I bet you all are using NTFS, aren't ya? LOL In other words, I need the: Safest, Fastest,Not Problematic HDD!
-
thanx so much guyz for the response @Oneless I can't find what you are talking about @Mhz I tried Defragmentation with PerfectDisk, but I'll try ScanDisk @Chilli , @Rayaza That's sounds good! how? Fdisk or just Partition Magic or Paragon by MiniPE2-XT?
-
plz guyz I'm freaking out I bought last couple of weeks a Samsung HDD 160 GBs , 7200 RPM & I partioned it into 20 & 140 Then I formatted it via Disk Manager of windows xp , something happen and the DM formatted it into Dynamic Disk! I thought it's ok and doesn't matter the 20 partition is working fine, But then the 140 partition keep doing strange things, Like I couldn't copy/move some folder or files from it, crashes, but I paste files into it normally also in disk manager, I found my HDD at risk! what the hell does that mean? is it going to die? , here is the pic to clarify what's my prob:
