Don't you think doing so will make microsoft want to "montior" those that purchase a key online a bit more? If you buy the OEM version you have to reinstall? you cant just enter the key in?

When you go to the windows update site and it installs and runs WGA - has anyone ever used the purchase legit/legal copy now, option? What are your thoughts on it?

OK, I think we need a little information here, because this question is hard to understand. I'm not sure if English is your first language--but either way we need to clarify some things here. I'm not really sure what "I will be a google" means for starters, but let me see if I got this right: 1. You open IE 2. Type address in address bar "www.google.com" 3. (waiting to page to load) 4. Open up second instance of IE (first page still loading) 5. type address in second IE window (first page still loading) 6. (Both pages waiting to load) 7. Both IE windows open same webpage at about the same time Is this about right? If so is your question why would the first page take longer to load than the second page, since the second IE window was opened after the first one? After we have that clarified, we will want to know what type of Internet connection you have (Dial up, DSL, T1, etc., and the speed if known). My guess is that the behavior your describing is not abnormal, but rather just DNS resolution over a slower connection. After the first request is sent (IE page #1), the DNS request is started at that point, so a second IE page should open faster once the address has been resolved from the initial query. yes that is the exact issue - and now that you mention about the DNS request you might be onto something there -- It does seem to happen after my connection has been "idal" for awhile, such as when I get up in the morning and first click on IE ...

I have experienced this issue a few times I cant seem to figure out why it is happening.... Sometimes when I open up IE and type in a website ie. www.google.com - sometimes it will take about a min for it to load that site, and if I were to open up a new IE window in the meantime and put in www.google.com same thing, then all of a sudden about maybe 30sec later both windows will refresh and I will be a google. - I tired running all the usual spyware tools - and hijackthis and found nothing unusual, and it doesn't happen all of the time - seems to be kind of random - any one know of any tools I can use to monitor what is going on?

right now I have a 3dlabs VP880 Pro, and I currently dont have a card that I can use as a test. - and I dont think those PCI cards would live up to my 3dlabs card...

yes I do belive it to be a issue with my video card but still I cant go out and buy just a cheap card and expect that it will run the programs I want.

thanks for your replies, I know it seems like a lot of money but I think I paid around the same amount for my 880 pro - My main concern is that it is going to be good with video, and some 3d work - if anyone has any suggestions of cheaper cards and same performance I'm all ears.

I currently have a 3d labs VP 880 Pro that I have used for the past two years. With my Iwill DH-800 mobo, I'm starting to feel that its time for an upgrade. As I would like to run XP pro and vista - I think I would like to go with something by Nvidia? Over the next couple of months I hope to make a decision as to what card to get... It needs to be excellent at video such as After Effects, Premiere, photoshop but also good when using Maya 8 etc... Sorry it took me sooo long to get back to the board, I finally ran the Maxtor mfg diag. on the disk and it found no errors. I figured it would probably come to this, but I'm not ready to reformat just yet....Its perplexing that it only happens to the quicktime files on the C: drive, if I copy and paste them to any other drive they load/work/and play fine....perhaps I should run the WD diag on my C drive?

Do you guys think it could have something to do with my video card?

The movie will not play in safe mode either, I can load up quick time but as soon as I do file open and select the movie the computer crashes - As for defrag, I use diskeeper 10 server enterprise so that pretty much takes care of that. I have two mini dump files that I tried to upload but it would not let me due to the file extension and even changing the extension to .jpg I got this error when try to add them The requested file upload failed because suitable permissions have not been enabled on the 'uploads' directory. Please contact the board administrator and inform them of this error.

Hey guys sorry for bringing up this old thread, but this issue really aggravates me. I finally reinstalled my OS installed qt7 - saved a qt movie off of the web, which played fine to my desktop and lone and behold my computer crashed - This has to be some sort of hardware error?

I haven't tried it yet, but won't removing the toolbars in hihackthis also remove smiley central?

Is there a way to remove only the "My Web Search" Toolbar and keep smiley central? I enjoy the little smiles so I would like to keep it but just remove the toolbar that gets installed with it. But when you remove the toolbar it also removes smiley central.
