  1. I've been searching the net for the past hour looking for a good source of app switches (a listing). Not one site offers a good list of app switches that I've seen so far. Does anyone have any links or a custom list available?
  2. Photoshop imageready has the ability to save files as animated gifs if you are willing to do it yourself.
  3. TY for the in-depth description. I'll check it out.
  4. Anyone have any information on the switch for an Outlook plugin for a Barracuda Antispam appliance? When the install runs you need to click yes, next, next and finish. I'd like to bypass all of this. Many thanks in advance.
  5. ack...nm found it after 20 minutes of searching.
  6. Has anyone had any luck getting winzip 8.1 to install silently? I've run a search on the forums and haven't come up with anything helpful. This doesn't seem to work and the winzip site offers some code that doesn't work. ECHO. ECHO Installing WinZip ECHO Please wait... start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Winzip\setup.exe \s
  7. LOL sorry I wasn't around last night. I had to stay in at the office late to prep for a conference.
  8. Yeah...the path points straight to the file: start /wait "%systemroot%\Install\Office11\setup.exe" TRANSFORMS="C:\Install\Office11\Unattended.MST" /qb- Path>HD C:\Install\Office11
  9. So...I changed the line accordingly and it told me that it could not find the 'transform' blah blah. Any ideas?
  10. I'm still stuck at work setting up 2k3 servers... If I get in at a decent time I willl IM you.
  11. I think that is going to do it...THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
  12. this is what the office prep tool gives me: setup.exe TRANSFORMS=C:\XPSP1a_ENG_PRO\$OEM$\$1\Install\Office11\Unattended.MST /qb-
  13. I think i left something out in the syntax...am I right? should be? start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Office11\setup.exe TRANSFORMS="Unattended.MST" /qb-
  14. I got the paths and command lines to call upon setups etc. Well, it gets to office it starts the setup and it disappears. The batch file moves onto the next item to install without finishing office. Ideas? Here is what I have: ECHO. ECHO Installing Office 2003 ECHO Please wait... start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\OfficeXP\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=Unattended.MST /qb- I've done the footwork in the search area and I didn't come up with anything helpful. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  15. I agree. The results will make my life that much easier. Getting there is 75% of the battle. TY for holding my hand.
  16. I'll look out for you when I get back home (after 5 mst). Thanks for the offer and sorry for being so short. It's Monday
  17. I would prefer to run things off of the cd, however I looked around for the %cdrom% thingy and came up with too many results. What I mean is the search tool didn't narrow down the results enough for it to be of any use. I don't want to take up any of your time. I know you have things that you would rather be doing.
  18. oh hell... one step at a time LOL. It may be simpler to you, however this is my first attempt at unattended installs. I'm not a programmer, I'm more of a 3D artist. I'm just in the wrong part of the country to find that wonderful job. It's a bi-product of relationships and compromise.
  19. TY lpl...you were correct in that I was confused as to if I needed the %system% drive in front and if I needed to be specific in calling the folder path. Thank you for being patient with me. I've been up since 3:30 this morning and it's 10:15 now (dogs next door wouldn't shut up). I've only got another 6 or 7 hours left in my work day.
  20. I had something similar to your problem. However, it was pre-sp2. My explorer.exe would blink out on me from time to time. I intalled sp2 and it went away. I could never put my finger on what was causing this problem, but it was happening on two seperate workstations at home. One thing that could have caused it was my external hd's, and the other was my wireless. Both of which were connected via usb. I dunno if this helps, but sometimes you see things that are similar and can find a solution that way.
  21. Um...yes I got that portion of it. $1 = c drive...$$ = windows folder. the origal inquiry was pertaining to the actual syntax of the cmd entry. 'does this path look correct for all the files? C:\XPSP1a_ENG_PRO\$OEM$\$1\Install in conjunction with: start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\OfficeXP\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=Unattended.MST /qb-' Thanks for pointing out the obvious...yes i am a dumbass. I rode the short bus with the tinted windows.
  22. Not to touch the subject again, but I did do the reading and I drew a blank. I wasn't asking for somebody to do the work for me...I gave a few examples of what I had done and asked for an analysis.
  23. I must be mistaken...I thought this was a forum that allowed users to submit questions, and have other users/members assist. If I have this wrong please let me know and I'll take my novice tail someplace else.
