  1. The difference is mainly in activation. The Retail (boxed) version requires activation, the corporate (the actual name is Volume License), intended for usage by corporations with 100s and 1000s of PCs (hence the name), doesn't. As for the OEM version, the licensing terms and the activation requirements vary from OEM reseller to OEM reseller. Most pre-activate Windows installations distributed with their computers, while others require the user to activate manually. Also, some OEM installations may be customized to display company logos and additional contact and support information. This, however, has no impact on creating unattended installations of Windows. The procedure is the same for all versions.
  2. This registry key disables the Windows key (according to http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/903/ and many other tweaking sites), so if you have it present in your registry, try removing it. Hope it helps .
  3. These folders are in use by the Windows Logon App (winlogon.exe) thus making it next to impossible to delete them. However, if you remove sfcfiles.dll (you don't use Windows File Protection, do you ?) or rename it to something else, such as _sfcfiles.dll, deleting the dirs will be no problem. Note that if you rename the file back to sfcfiles.dll, for example, if you want to check the integrity of your Windows files, and reboot your machine, Windows will automatically recreate the folders . Oh, yes, and be sure to edit dosnet.inf, layout.inf and txtsetup.sif so that they point to the renamed file, otherwise Setup will generate an error message during its text-mode portion.
