What needs to be placed (settings) in the .theme?

I'm simply using two of the 'tweaks' and acrobat is working 200% faster Move plugins to optional, and disable splashscreen! thats all you need and both are easily added to a xpcd.

what does speedup actually change? Is it registry related?? if so it'd be good to discover what is altered and then make a registry tweak for it!

Just going to use this registry setting for now! this is for WMP10 (you will need to change the red area for your own skin) EDIT: Edited to the correct format that is supplied below by simonsays. is there a setting within winnt.sif to set default wmp skin? i believe i have seen one here but am unable to find it.... thanks for any help provided

how did you get it to install after SFX? I can't get it to install with a responce.txt

well..... didn't apply... I have changed what people said and it doesnt restart for 60secs which is started at the start of the cleanup.cmd any more hints would be helpful.

well that may be the problem.... I have had the skin up a couple of times but more often NOT. How do you login after setup? Do i just remove the shutdown section from the cleanup.cmd?

I agree that winnt.sif slash missing may be the fault fourte3n. The theme file itself always seem to be missing slashes, but they still apply fine. Even look into the registry and you have slashes missing for theme stuff. If you look inside Docs and settings, windows writes up a theme script file that has missing slashes. Weird but true. Ensure that you logon the first time to get your theme before reboot else you get only classic. Hope I help alittle. Sorry... i dont understand this. It's (SLOWLY) installing now.... yawn. I'll update you all if it works (dont wait thou! it takes ages.....)

thankyou guys.... will give it a whirl now. I have been agonising about that for a while as I see many different examples on this site some have the \ and some don't and windows made the theme with some areas having the \ and some not... it seems a bit dodgey.

yep.... i have done some extra modding now and with the new uxtheme (i think mine was ok but you never know!) I'll go through the 2 and a half hour install.......yey

yep... thats done! like i said, it was working.... but its been quite painful. edit: I have just dl'd another to be on the safe side! it was bigger than my current one? 112kb rather than 98kb.... hmmm

I find that my custom .theme isn't applying. It did work once but not anymore. I have got the UXTHEME.DL_ and I have debugged a thousand times.... My WINNT.SIF My .Theme file Anything that I have missed??

thanks.... seems like too much trouble. I have found a simple replacement that has a dark brushed metal look.... looks nice.

Cool... I've just done what you said, will try out soon. Also applying this to openoffice! as the unpacked 1.1.3rc is 140mb! in the SFX it's only 50mb....

I saw the "matrix" setup image earlie and noticed it had the programs being installed at this point... not in a blue screen with win2k style boxes. was this real and if so how is it done? I have looked but don't know what to look for.

If people dont like seeing the unpacking box that appears while installing nero, just extract the files from the original nero****.exe and use the same string as before on the setup.exe Only drawback is the extra space. +70mb.
