  1. Works just fine for me... I install all my applications, delete both the "All Users" and personal Desktop & Startmenu, and then recreate the shortcuts I need. But I use KiXtart to create the shortcuts, so I can't help you with that... I do know that for example KiXtart and VBScript can do shortcuts... But if I do so won't that leave me with an absolutly empty desktop (no My Computer, My Documents...)? Can you give me an example script of putting a single shurtcut on the desktop? I'll edit it.
  2. you can try to modify the .cpl file, cab it and use modpe to pass over WFP... i guess offtopic: nice avatar i really like gg dag too OK... first thing's first. How do I "modpe" the "WFP"? And what are they? And where can I locate the .cpl in the XPCD since I want to make the pic be installed as the default My Computer/Properties pic. Do I cab it with a simple archiver such as WinRAR/StuffIt (I got those 2)?
  3. Is there a way to change the picture through a XP uA CD? A regtweak, a .ini or a plane ol' batch file/command?
  4. Another question. How can I prevent programs from putting their shortcuts on the desktop? Switches? Please don't say switches! Is there a way to delete the shortcuts with a batch command afterwards?
  5. Skyfrog a bow for your fast answer! As I sayd Windows will not let me make a shortcut of an unexisting application. How can I make the shorcuts. A batch command maybe? I dont want my shortcut in Desktop/ I want them in Desktop/Programs! I've put my question wrong :/
  6. I got a few questions... as always 1. Is there a problem if I make a Desktop folder in \$OEM$\$Docs\All Users\ ? 2. Is there a problem if I make subfolders in Desktop\ containing shortcuts for not yet installed software. Example: I will install Opera with cmdline.txt and I know that she will be installed in C:\Program Files\Opera. Can I add C:\Program Files\Opera\opera.exe as a shortcut in \$OEM$\$Docs\All Users\Desktop\Programs\? 3. If 2. is not possible (ex.: b/c Windows will not let me make a shortcut of an unexisting application) how can I make a shortcut be created with a batch file/command? So I can make a shortcut of a program after installing it. P.S. Expect more questions soon... EDIT: I don't know what happend to the topic. I wrote To be or not to be - $OEM$\$Docs\All Users\Desktop...
  7. Is there a way to install Opera with my prefered/current settings? EDIT: I just read my About Opera page. Paths Preferences - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\opera6.ini Saved windows - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\opera.win Bookmarks - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\opera6.adr So I copy opera6.ini and oper6.adr to C:\XPCD\$OEM$\$Docs\All Users\Applications Data\Opera\Opera\profile, right? Is there a way ti save my skin too?
  8. You are saying that we could is the %CDROM% variable but look here. That say: Do we need a script to be installed so that the %CDROM% variable can be assined are should we copy winamp.ini to C:\XPCD\$OEM$\$1\Install\Applications\Winamp and rewrite the code to: winamp.msi INI="%systemdrive%\install\Applications\Winamp\winamp.ini"
  9. About the release - my bad! I reeeealy should check MS's site more regulary. Thx for the fast answers!
  10. First of all a SALUTE to the creator of the site and forum! Now for my question - I'm making a XP SP2 (slipstreemed) uA CD following - http://unattended.msfn.org/index.htm At the moment I am making the batch file for my programs. I saw Aaron's thread regarding SP1 Critical Updates. DO I NEED ANY CRITICAL UPDATES ADDED TO MY XPSP2? All I know is that since SP2 is not "officialy" released no updates are known (to me atleast ). P.S. Excuse my english...
