1.7 GB.
That is too much, I have already trimmed my OS to 1.4 gb with most of my required components. I wish to go below 1gb mark. I guess you must be talking about 64bit and I am talking about 32bit.

I know what you mean mate but one has to do loads of tests to find out more about dependencies ......
Anyway, here's my last settings file to date ...
Thanks man but can you please tell how big is your OS, as I am trying to trim my OS to about 900 mb.

@ nice_guy75
Mate, you'd be better off using "Tweaked Settings" instead of "Advanced" as tracing back the lot would end up using different settings than in "Advanced" mode anyway.
Make sure you've got the following enabled as far Themes, Aero Peak and ClearType are concerned.
Thanks for your reply brother but I am using advanced option as I wish to keep my OS size as small as I can. But at the same time I also wish to keep some components like paint, wordpad, windows Media Player, Windows Photo Viewer, Windows disk image burner, etc. I managed to trim my OS to 935 mb but Aero theme and wifi problem still not solved. If you can share your lastsession.ini with me that would be great.

I am having one more problem in my trimmed OS. Apart from Aero theme my OS is not able to connect to my wifi router. I tried each and everything but problem still persists. When I see wireless Netowork connection status I see 412gbps in speed but there is not connection to my wifi router.
I suppose some service is disabled, I don't know which one.

I have tried Advanced option once again and this time my themes are working but I got another problem, my OS is not showing previews of opened windows in the taks bar.
I am not which component should I keep for previews, please guide me guys.
Please see this screenshot.

Though I have not tried this but when I tried last time I got an error something related to "Document and setting".
Is WAIK neccessary for RT 7 lite, I have tried it without WAIK. Was this error because of WAIK?????????????
From Ben,
"...Documents and Settings error is a small coding mistake...actually its caused by timing level....I fixed this issue. Monday releasing a patch..."
Patch not out yet.
Thanks I am also waiting for the patch. But it has not released yet. I hope ben would release its patch soon.

Don't forget to set : TWEAKS -> System -> UXTheme patch = Enable
Don't forget to set : Services -> Themes -> Automatic

Hey ben,
I used Advanced option with some modification as I wanted to keep some of the components like windows search, paint etc. But when I install my OS Aero theme was not working infact none of the themes were working. I even tried to patch theme files and tried to apply some third party themes but I am unable to apply any theme. Can you please tell how to enable theme?
I am again trying to use advanced option this time I have enable themes lets see how it goes.

To change this bmp go to install.wim>Windows>system32>shell32.dll and change 632 (ghost image) and 633 in bitmap.

Hi nice_guy75,
i have the same problems with this entrie of German "Windows wird gestartet" in the winload.exe.mui.
When i changed the entrie Win7 booting with errrors and crashed.
The Bootscree and the winload.exe we can`t changed.
beatmaster
Infact we can change winload.exe but we need to patch that file otherwise system will not boot at all. The only problem I am facing is "I am not getting the method how to patch winload.exe"

You are bang on target, go ahead and change the strings.

The only Windows 7 OS that supports changing the startup screens is (as mentioned previously) Windows Embedded Standard 7. And the options you have is basically to remove the startup screens all together, so that you cannot see it's windows booting. Vendors of Windows Embedded devices uses this together with custom shells to hide the fact the device is running Windows. The package you use is called Unbranded Startup Screens, and is enabled via ICE (the Windows Embedded version of WSIM).
Windows 7 is using digital signing to ensure none of the boot files has been tampered with so I would'nt even try to go changing those. And of course it would be very unsupported as well.
I don't mind playing with those files as well and I already did, I have already made an Acronis image of my C drive. But when I changed the text in winload.exe, booting failed and got an error something like "Digital Signature is not verified.......... bla bla bla"
And as I have already mentioned it can be done with normal windows 7 as well but winload.exe need to be patched. And I want to lean that method only,

Ok I have some idea how it can be done but the problem is that I dont have any idea how to patch winload.exe. Can anyone explaing how to patch winload.exe?
nice_guy75, is the attached what you are looking for? As you can see I opened it in XN Resource Editor, found here. I am not sure this is the best one for this job, but I have used it on my XP x64 system and created the attached screen shot on my W7 x64 under VM. If you double click the message text you want to change, then you can edit it. When I did these kinds of changes on XP, I had to run with System File Checker (SFC) turned off (also called WFP). Don't know yet how this works on W7. Please let us know what you learn. Enjoy, John.
See brother, in windows 7 it is not possible like you did in XP as we have to patch winload.exe. I have already tried to edit winload.exe in windows 7 ultimate but booting failed and some error like "Digital signature is not verified". And also tried to change the text in winload.exe.mui but I don't see any Change.
And I am looking for the method with the help of which I can patch winload.exe. Please help me someone.

I tried it on my OS and trimmed my OS size down to 889 MB using Advanced Option (ofcourse I uncheck some components) and guess what my trimming and installation was picture perfect. Thanks to ben.

Have you tryed to give the driver of the chipset first of the controller ? What's machine have?
Mine is Acer Aspire 5570. And I even tried to use Driver DVD but same result.

The problem could be vlite. Try not to use it.
No dear it can't be, as my OS is working fine after vlite but the problem only arises after RT 7 lite.

I didn't even selected components from the Tasks. The one I am using is already trimmed with vlite and before applying RT7 lite on it the os was installing fine. This problem only appears after I used RT 7 Lite.
Are you using one of the European "N" Windows versions, or Enterprise?
No, I am using Windows 7 Ultimate, already trimmed it to 1.56GB.
I have removed these components:

Are you sure you have not deleted any drivers? . The second advice may be due to a lack of chipset drivers. You should never remove the drivers in red. I had this problem with the Vbox.
I didn't even selected components from the Tasks. The one I am using is already trimmed with vlite and before applying RT7 lite on it the os was installing fine. This problem only appears after I used RT 7 Lite.

I prefer to install the OS and then install all the applications and then capture the install.wim.
I believe this the easiest method availavble.

@ nice_guy75
I've had that error quite often. All I did was burning the ISO again and again. Pretty annoying I know ....
You may try to include your motherboard's SATA/RAID drivers using RT Seven Lite before building the final ISO file.
I have also tried on my friends system but giving me the same error. I am not sure what is wrong with RT 7 Lite or I am doing something wrong with it.
