What is ths adt.xpi for?
Just for those interested Firefox 1.5 CCK (Client Customization Kit) - Similar to IEAK. Personally i prefere SOF - but just to give people more options

SOF doesnt work well for me. I am aware of it but it always generates errors when ran so I decided to try and go with the official product for the job.
New version of SOF has been released and works correctly with FF 1.5 thread here

Did you try to use sof.exe to copy search plugins ?Because new sof package has new directory inside profiles dir.When you click "Copy my files" and select searchplugins, both ProgramFiles\mozilla firefox\searchplugins and Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxx\searchplugins copied.Thanks for the mirror I will add it.
Ok have been doing some more testing. What i have found is that sof.exe does copy all the searchplugins from ProgramFiles\mozilla firefox\searchplugins but does not from username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxx\searchplugins
Not a big deal - just wanted to let you know as it seem to be a little bug to me
Please check config.ini for C4=Component QFA put ; before and it will be gone.Also delete talkback.xpi to save space.Excellent Tip!

Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxx\searchplugins
So if you copy that directory to your projects profile directory it should work.
Yes it does if you manually copy it... just thought i would let you know in case you wanted to update the builder.
I have just checked with the lastest archive you have made available - still requires manual copy of "Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxx\searchplugins"

I found the bug.Seems Mozilla crew changed config.ini.So Sof couldnt found the Mozilla Directory(AB_CD).I have updated install.exe of the package.I have tried and extensions installed.Also when you test please keep in mind that not all extensions is compatible with Firefox 1.5 and/or commanline installation.Please tell me if it works for you.I will add more Mozilla products to my application and will update Sof in couple of days.
Ok have been doing some testing - all is working as it should now except for the toolbar customizations. Also currently any additional "SearchPlugins" are not being copied to the project directory or being installed.
Also i have added the new install.exe file to the orginal zip file replacing the old one and added another mirror to show my support. please feel free to update your first post with this mirror. sof_ff150.zip

is there a way to move the 5 tasks (located down the left side) down a little to allow for 2 or three lines of text with this tool?
Also i have a suggestion for the tool; It would be great if you could save your template or preferences - that way if MS do updates that effect the .dll files, then you could simply load the editor and then apply your template/preferences to the .dll's again and save. Would be very handy

01. Which version should i download ...there are 2 if u look carefully....the update version and the trial version....i don't understand the difference. the file size is the same....????
The Trial and Upgrade versions are exactly the same. The only difference is if you choose to include the Yahoo Toolbar (adds about 4mb to the file size).
I have tested both files - they are exactly the same.

I'm not sure if i am too late with this, since not much happening here anymore...
But anyways, i had a little spare time and was tired of the work needed to modify texts in the winntbbu.dll, so i put together a little VB-Application.
I tried to keep it as tight as possible, so if i am not mistaken all you will need to run this are the vb6 runtimes (which, if you dont run winxp anyway, can get from ms directly).

Below is a link to a package of hotfixes that will possibly be in SP3. It's completely unofficial from Microsoft and is just a collection of fixes said to be in SP3 at some point.
Let me make it clear that it is NOT Service Pack 3, but rather just fixes that will probably go into the official package from Microsoft when they start building SP3.

Perhaps you have not looked at Nero_Installer.cmd carefully, but you can do all of that already and in fewer lines of code.

Yes i did look atht e installer closely and can see you can add to the installer... however if you use a reg file, personally i think it is simpler to maintain - just a personal preference and only a suggestion.
Your solution has come along way since you began - very impressive! I like your work.
I wasn't having a shot at you - just making a friendly suggestion. Of course i can make the changes to suit my preferences, but thought some of the other users may like the option of the reg file.

instead of adding the serial number on the command line, i would like to suggest using a reg file. this way you can add your name and company PLUS the best thing about using a reg file is that you can tweak the post installation further.

Ok what is the same of your nero*.* files and have you setup the right configuration in the makeit.cmd file?

I extracted the Nero files and extracted the Custom Installer Creator into the folder where nero.exe is located and double-clicked makeit.cmd but nothing happened. What am I doing wrong or not doing?

How to
1. Extract the contents of the Nero_Custom_Installer_Creator.rar to the same directory as you have saved your Nero-*.exe and (if you are using it) NVE-*.exe. NB The filenames of the source files downloaded from Nero should not be changed as they script looks for the “Nero-*.exe” and “NVE-*.exe”.
2. You will need to edit the register.reg file. The main things to edit are as follows:

"Serial6"="XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX"
a. Change Nero User to Your Name.
b. Change Nero AG to Your Company/Business Name.
c. Insert your serial number replacing the X’s.
d. Add/remove any additional registry tweaks.
3. Edit the !MakeIt.cmd file variables to suit your requirements.
Make sure the rarPath and zipPath are set correctly. You are not required to have both installed. If you do not have one or the other installed just leave the default setting. See Explanation of !Makeit.cmd User Configuration Variables for more information.
4. Edit the post_config.cmd file variable to suit your requirements.
There is only two variable here – the name of the Folder you want your shortcuts to be presented in and enable/disable Quick launch shortcuts. See Explanation of post_config.cmd User Configuration Variables for more information.
5. Now you are ready to run !MakeIt.cmd.
Command line usage: !Makeit.cmd [/?] [/rar] [/7zip] [/nr]
/H - This information.
/RAR - Use WinRAR for creating the custom nero installation archive.
/7ZIP - Use 7-zip for creating the custom nero installation archive.
/NR - Make custom installer for Nero Burning ROM Only.
The /RAR or 7ZIP options are override options for the default archive utility that you have specified when you have edited the !MakeIt.cmd file (step 2).
The /NR options simply removes everything accept for the common files, and Nero Burning ROM.
5. You have now completed the creation of your custom installer.

I just downloaded the latest version of NCAB. After following
instructions I click on NCAB.exe and it just flashes a command
window, doesn't give me any options to configure Nero. Am I
doing something wrong?
What version of 7-zip do you have installed? If it is the latest (4.20) this maybe what is causing your problem. There is a known issue with the latest version of 7-zip and vcBlackBox is working on updates currently. Stay tuned.
