for those interested, this solution is to use 1365Vidchng.exe on the second boot. I have automated it by adding it to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce before shutdown on the first boot. Felix

it's used to not display the extension for .url files and i want to remove it. i know using [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\InternetShortcut] from a reg file causes the hive to be removed but i only want to remove the REG_SZ, someone can help me?? Hi all, I was wondering if there is a way to have a range of configuration options on the Install CD that is to say i would like to have a couple of options like being able to choose between say booting with unattended option and have this setup using [Data] AutoPartition = 0 MsDosInitiated = "0" UnattendedInstall = "Yes" and another option with [Data] AutoPartition = 1 MsDosInitiated = "0" UnattendedInstall = "Yes" The reason for this would be i would like to have 1 cd that would cater for most installation requirements. Hi All, I have the unattended install working correctly and the first time the system boots after installation and autologon happens the system comes up with the correct settings as specified here [Display] BitsPerPel = 32 Xresolution = 1024 YResolution = 768 However upon the next boot up the screen res goes to default and i have to manually set it again. The error is happening when the copying process is happening from CD to HDD and it just says can't copy svcpack.inf - make sure you have the xp disk in etc... press esc to ignore or try again etc... Hi All, Has anyone had this error can not copy svcpack.inf error during setup? I have followed the instructions and examples here, however i am continuing to have this problem and yes i have deleted the svcpack.in_ file in the \i386 folder. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated Cheers, Felix

Grettings all, Well i have been experiencing something strange and i thought i would ask around and see if any of you have experienced this problem or if there is a known solution - or maybe i have just stuffed up. ok here is the GuiUnattended entries i am presently using in my winnt.sif. [GuiUnattended] ; this doesn't work AdminPassword=b837e19483d00fe9aad3b435b51404eeacc35fb5d6dba92e662fe86a6dc59a84 EncryptedAdminPassword=Yes AutoLogon=Yes AutoLogonCount=1 OEMSkipRegional = 1 OEMSkipWelcome = 1 TimeZone=225 Now the issue that i have is simple - the autologon doesn't occur... I have done some testing and if i put a plain text AdminPassword in and turn of the Encryption the Autologon works perfectly. example of working settings below. [GuiUnattended] ; This works. AdminPassword="mypassword" EncryptedAdminPassword=NO AutoLogon=Yes AutoLogonCount=1 OEMSkipRegional = 1 OEMSkipWelcome = 1 TimeZone=225 Does anyone have any ideas about this, has anyone else had this problem, or is there a know solution for this?
