So I dont have any problem using this setup at all.

After hearing that more and more people stopped using antivir apps I decided to take it to the extreme and cut out all security on my Xp innstallation. I dont have much sensetiv information on this computer but some projects going, just enough to get the feeling of loss and that my balls are one the line. No pain no fun. I did not know what was going to happen but after 1,5 months now I am suprised to say that my pc is as clean as ever, runs very smoothly and boots faster than I see on newer pc's. My conclusion is that my Nlited Xp combined with an effective setup of firefox addons is enough to keep the big dangers on the internet away. And I have traveled the web with this setup to test it further. I have seen porn I didnt know exist, and downloaded cracks I dont need, and tried to make a mess, but unsucsessfully so. The reason I post is that I think I have unrevealed the 20 minuts and your infected myth, but I dont understand why. Any thoughts out there? My Pc: Pentium 4 512 Ram 4500/700 broadband connection Scanned the pc with theese apps: Antivir: Nod32, avg7, Kaspersky, Avast, Antivir, Bitdefender, Clamwin AntiSpy: A-squared, spybot, ad-aware, ewido, superantispyware, windows defender, hijackthis, cwshredder, rootkitrevealer I have also used Netpeeker to keep a close watch on my internet connections, but with no irregularities. I guess closing my eyes and pretending I had linux installed worked.

Is there a chance that the most workable microwinx iso's will end up as a torrent? I fully understand the legal policy when altering a properitary product, but I am sure someone into performance tweaking an OS is a dirty soul enough to go by illegal means. The instructions in the guide are more than managable but I get the feeling that is's not complete without research done in this thread. Any easy fix for a gamer? I'll still read the post because I want to see the empire get thinner, but for practical issues in a world that are changing to fast for my time spent in it.

Hi all.. I've recently dived into the Linux world but still need windows for me gaming, then this comes up and it look really promising. Nice work gdogg and testers... I am about to gdogg my xp and have been to the microwin site and read much of this thread but I'm still in the dark about a few things... 1. Since it is resistant to viruses and spy/mal-ware, do I need to integrate the service packs? The guide is exellent, but a requirement list would be nice. 2. I thought about using a firewall and only allow the gameports for multiplayer, but is that needed with Microwin? If so, with lite firewall would you recommend? 3. Keep on rocking.

I use Firefox and have wondered why MS didn't integrate a pop-up blocker in their Iexplorer (not in the versions I've used anyway). They have the product already in the Msn pop-up bar, so I guess it wouldnt be to difficult putting it in IE. Then I read about their new web-based messenger: http://webmessenger.msn.com/?mkt=nb-no (best viewed in Mozilla Firefox) So thats what their plan was....hmmmm any thoughts?

Hey I wondered if anyone had a complete list of services or *.msc there is in a common Xp Pro? It seem's to pop up new ones all the time, and I thought i had some control over my N-lite, tweaked, 'first OS: MsDos, adjusted' Operating system. I have tried google lot's of times and I know of http://www.blackviper.com, but they keep getting me by souprice every time. last service acounted for was: CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2

/off topic would just want to add vlc-player from http://www.videolan.org/ as a option. No need for codecs because it plays all formats, with crystal clear and loud audio. Very easily configurable and play *.bin and *iso directly.

hi all....I'm a noob to unattended cd's by the way I have used Nlite on my winXP distrobution (witch already had SP1 integrated) and would like to slipstream SATA drivers for my hard-drives to the disk. I have read the 'device driver' pages and are ready to go. But cant find any $OEM$ folder at all... The folders I do find are DOCS, I386, SUPPORT and VALUEADD should i make a folder named $OEM$ or is it called something else on my dist. Thanks.......
