  1. Apologize if answered before, couldn't find a definitive answer anyhow. Regarding the preset or inf file, where is it located by default? If I perform a brand new lite build checking the removed components etc how can I save that preset? The tute is not clear.

on the main screen where you load the image look in lower right hand corner where it says session settings. you need to check the box there for it to save the settings. it is save in directory where RT7LITE installed too

  2. When I load previous settings, it is totally random whether the components I chose (and subsequently show checked for removal in the left pane) will actually be removed, as shown later on in the saved lastsession.inf.

First of all, when I lead an .inf, it applies only part of the component removal and feature enabling/disabling in the UI. Afterwards, if I manually correct this for it to resemble the settings as provided by the previously loaded .inf, the end result when applying shows several components not being removed and/or several features not being disabled.

I tried it a couple of times: load a previous session, apply it to a fresh WIM-file and the program will come up with a lastsession.inf with multiple components NOT removed, even though they were explicitly present in the .inf file AND selected in the UI upon loading of that lastsession.inf.

Overall, this makes the program extremely unreliable and not suited for its needs, as with component removal one will always run into problems that require rebuilding an installation with just one or two components less being selected for removal... With this problem, you'll never know what comes out of the process.

you do realize this is a beta, right???? the next beta release fixes this issue.

  3. still doesn't work.

The simple answer is MS Virtual PC doesn't support x64 clients never has done, Try VirtualBox.

Virtualbox works but was iffy last I tried VirtualBox-3.1.4-57640-Win, Vmware workstation works excellent with 64

Edit: iffy with usb jumpdrives but may have improved by now and VirtualBox is free

I use VMware Server under XP x64 but have no experience yet with W7. The VMware forum indicates that a W7 guest can be run as Vista VM (i.e, select Vista (32 or 64) as OS when configuring a VM). I also have seen people there talking about installing VMware Server in a W7 host. The real advantage to VMware Server is that it is free. Enjoy, John.

thank you for tip. i got it vmware to work, now i can test images i make without doing a real install!!! which is what i was doing

But the tool of Bensam will not work again! I'm very disappointed from this tool. It does not work!

Do not compare Blue's tool with that of Bensam.

    Blue plays in another league.

But now he has difficulties with the new release!

But perhaps Blue has get on :

    # The solution is implemented. I will test it now. vor 36 Minuten via web

    Twitter

    New message:

    # Test is successful. I will release a new version in a few minutes. vor 38 Minuten via web

Wow, we get really a new version! Go on Blue!!

strange, others have got it to work fine. in my opinion bensams project has more features right now than this. but both have new releases coming so time will tell
