  6. how can i install DOS drivers for an external USB HDD in to the text mode part of windows setup?? atm it just gets to "starting windows" (in text mode section) and freezes until i turn the external drive off... it also does that when i try and start windows... it just sits there until i turn the drive off the once its off windows continues to load so i figure i need a USB DOS driver... but then how do i intigrate it into text mode setup?? i remember there was a thread about this before but i just spent 20mins searching for it and i cant find it i dont know if the thread will even help me so i post the question here too...

  10. heh i just tested it on a hard install and it does keep the shortcut
  11. i THINK there needs to be some manual reg entires added to make the shortcut keys stick... but i couldnt find anythin... maybe some experts can help
  12. ok... go in to system32 folder and find taskmgr.exe right click and select shortcut... it will be placed on desktop... right click the shortcut and select properties... then go to the shorutcut tab... and select shortcut key then press the keys u want then go to the general tab and select the hidden attribute... then there u go shortcut keys to taskmanager it doesnt work perfectly... if u crash explorer there is no way to get it back and another thing i just discovered which kind of messes the whole thing up even more... when u restart (just explorer) or the whole pc the shourtcut no longer works oh well seemed like it might work out but obviously not
  13. i found away around the Ctrl+alt+del problem if anyones interested let me know... p.s. am i allowed to talk about this?? seen as it would be illegal
  14. If you had really run it in kiosk-mode, you wouldn't have had access to the taskbar (no explorer.exe as shell, they just run a custom UI). kiosk mode?? i wasnt talking about that lol
  15. you can still right click the taskbar and select task manager from the menu
  16. and another thing... there is no CTRL+ALT+DEL
  17. i tested it properly (not in vmware) and after you apply the minilogon all the CURRENT USER settings are lost (its like starting from fresh) but its easy to re add all the reg tweaks and stuff another thing is i dont think it can be put on to custom CD directly i got a stop error and yeah there is only one user (obviously if u had multiple accounts you wouldnt touch this) and it could open up new possibilities for hackers to exploit!! further testing and feedback is needed
  18. i got improved shutdown time too (its only tested in vmware... but it took like 1-2second from hitting the shutdown button) but i wonder what the security issuse of this would be?? would the system be less secure or more
