  1. It's going to be tough to locate every instance of the virus because it may have add many more files to your system.. Try looking in the C:\windows\system32 directory and see if there are files marked as hidden. You can download this free utility for deleting svhost.exe.and other "locked" files http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
  2. Autorun.inf is a common file, system.exe is the one that bothers me. Try a spyware remover that has the option to right-click on a directory or drive? You could put the flash drive in, then use Windows Explorer, locate the correct letter, right-click and choose Scan with.... I use PCTools Spyware Doctor w/ Antivirus and it has this option
  3. Can you do a stsrem restore to a point before you got this virus warning, That will rmove those files. If they come back after that, then the USB flash drive has the virus on it.
  4. I would suggest downloading a spyware (malware) detector in addition to your Anti-virus. svchost.exe shouldnever be located in that directory. If it's the flash drive, you might have to bite the bullet and reformat it.
  5. Yes, no problem at all Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit? Actually I prefer this program instead of Acrobat Reader: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/ No bloatware like adobe and with more features.
  6. No TV? Doesn't the video card have an HDMI out And the sound card have optical ins and out I've also got a Blue-ray DVD/ RW and watch movies on the computer or TV as I've yet to buy a regular Blue-ray player. This is all connected up to a Marantz 7.1 channel surround master reference Home Theater receiver with Klipsch, Boston acoustics and Velodyne 12' sub woofer. That's my opinion on a true HTPC, but then again my newphew is a custom Home Theater installer.
  7. Yes, you can Right-click on the taskbar, choose new Toolbar, Simply double-click on My Computer and it will be add. I'd suggest unchecking Show title and Show Text
  8. Hello, Was this a "clean" install or an upgrade? Is the the official RD from MS? Are you using firefox by chance? I noticed the other day when i went to adobe.com, tried to downlaod the Flash player and it re-directed me to some page that had no download links on it. I clicked on the links you provided in IE 8 and they begain to immediately download. You can check http://www.filehippo.com for stand-alone versions
  9. I've been using Universal Extractor since it first came out. I use it everyday, because I like know what's inside the archives before installation. Recently I downloaded a new version of Inno Setup unpacker and compared the version to the you in the bin directory. i found it was a higher version and was now able to unpack inno setup 5.23 versions. I have a large collection of command-line utilities that I've collected over the years and was wondering if these could be added to the bin directory also to give it even more archive formates to unpack. Thanks for your help, Excellent program, I refer it on the Windows7 forum when anyone asks about an unzipper.
