  1. Thanks for the reply nitropuppy and thanks for moving the thread to the correct place. Would prefer PCI or PCIe. I've contacted an online shop and they suggested an Edimax EW-7727IN but they also said to contact the manufacturer directly for confirmation. I'm awaiting their reply atm. I've had a look at the manual for the device but it isn't clear whether it does support it or not although it does mention Wireless Multimedia Extensions (WMM) which I read elsewhere is how wowlan works.
  2. Hi.. not sure if I should be asking this here or in the hardware forum. Does anyone know of any Wifi adapters that support Wake on Wireless LAN? If yes, are they available in the UK? Thanks
  3. Thanks very much for this method of updates...it's excellent!
  4. Believe it or not, I did use the search function but I obviously didn't use the right search terms. Anyway, thank you for pointing me in the right direction, the Windows Updates Downloader looks like an amazing little app. Thanks again
  5. Hello.. Can anyone recommend anywhere to download update packs for Windows 7 please?
  6. Hello.. I have an abit Airpace WiFi card but the drivers are not compatible with Windows 7. It uses an Atheros chip so after installing Windows, i'm able to add the device via the Device Manager using the 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer' method...I choose Network Adapters then Atheros Communications and the AR5006X drivers work like a charm. The network connection is stable and reliable. Is there a way I would integrate this driver installation into the setup process or does the hardware id render that impossible? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  7. Thank you for the reply MrJinje...I followed your advice regarding the OOBE pass and everything works perfectly now. Thanks again
  8. Hi.. i'm kinda new to the world of WAIK and unattended installations and I've just made my very first Windows 7 customized installation disc. It all works well except that I get prompted to select the timezone at the end of the install process. Would someone be able to have a look at my autounattend.xml file and point me in the right direction please? Thanks in advance.. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend"> <servicing> <package action="remove"> <assemblyIdentity Should I be using en-UK instead of en-GB? If you need any more info, please let me know
  9. Hi.. would it be possible to edit the Autounattend.xml file created by vLite in order to create a user profile without any interaction during the installation process? If yes, could someone give me a few pointers as to what tags I should use and where in the xml file I should put it please? Thanks
  10. You're a star! Thanks ever so much
  11. Many thanks for the swift reply MagicAndre1981. Is there any way to copy those files back across to an existing installation or is it a case of repeating the vLite process and protecting the files? Thanks again
  12. Hi.. first of all, I just want to say this is a great site. It has helped me immensely with various issues and tips etc. Now onto my problem. I used vLite to create a custom Vista Ultimate x32 dvd. I removed some pre-installed drivers, the languages, natural language files, movie, music and picture samples. I also integrated IE8, post SP1 hotfixes/updates, DotNet, extras (Dreamscene, Tinker etc) as well as drivers for graphics, wireless and audio. The installation itself runs like a dream and Vista is stable, functional and runs extremely well but there is one minor annoyance with perfmon.msc. When I run the 'Reliability Monitor' snap-in, I see some strange rectangular characters towards the top of the window as demonstrated below: I've done a little experimenting with vLite using various options to install images on virtual machines and the problem is getting caused by removing traditional chinese langauge and its associated Table Text Driven Input Processor. Is there any way to fix this issue post-installation or should just ignore it (perfmon itself works ok...although the screenshot is taken with the counters cleared), or will it require a reinstall to fix it? Many thanks for any advice
