  1. I have recently partioned my HDD's and I have some question regarding the drive letters on Windows XP Setup. I have four HDD's connected on LSI Logic MegaRAID 320-2X as follows: 2 x 36GB HDD (RAID 0) w/ 18GB + 54GB partions 1 x 36GB HDD w/ 12GB + 24GB partions 1 x 148GB HDD What I like to see is: 1. 18GB = C 2. 54GB = D 3. 12GB = E 4. 24GB = F 5. 148GB = G But on Windows Setup, partions are recognized in different order. 1. 18GB = C 3. 12GB = D 5. 148GB = E 2. 54GB = F 4. 24GB = G I understand that I can change the drive letters once I finish installing Windows by running "Computer Management" under "Administation Tools", but I'd like to know if I can change them when I install Windows XP. If you have any idea why it's happening or you know how to fix this issue I am having, please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance. Sang
  2. NickAtNight, I know the post is quiet old, but I wonder if you have made it work. Did you make it work??
  3. Thanks you all for valuable inputs. I really appreciate them. :-) Anyway, back to the topic, it's not that I am in a trouble setting 4GB pagefile settings on my hard drives. As many of you have predicted, I do have suffient enough space for having 4GB pagefile. My question is, since I have 4GB of physical RAM, having pagefile that is twice the size of my RAM seems to be useless. I understand that Windows do need pagefile no matter how much RAM I have. It's just how much do I need if I have fairly large 4GB of RAM. For instance, will setting pagefile sized to 256MB give me problem? Do I have to have pagefile of Microsoft recommended 1.5 times the size of my RAM for minimum, even with 4GB of RAM? Thanks. Sang
  4. I've read and followed previous posts until now regarding pagefile optimization, setting twice the size of physical memory and spreading pagefiles to other physical hard drives. Now I purchased a new Opteron system with 4GB of RAM. Do I follow the same guide regarding the pagefile setting? It feels like total waste of HDD space setting pagefile that are sized 8GB in each HDD. Is it neccessary for optimal performance? Please share your idea. Thanks. Sang
  5. Is there any way to purchase OPK Tools for Windows Pro x64 Edition? I'd like to buy one, but it seems there's no way for me to buy it. Does anyone know?
  6. I am wondering if there's any way for me to put serveral mass storage drivers into just one floppy disk. I have only one floppy diskette in my hand, and I don't want to purchase extra floppy diskettes just to put drivers that I use only when I install Windows. So what I want to do is to put four different mass storage drivers (MegaRAID 320-2X driver for WinXP, MegaRAID 320-2X driver for WinXP x64, LSI1030 SCSI driver for WinXP, and Adaptec SCSI driver for WinXP) into single floppy diskette. Is there any way for me to do it? If so how do I do that? Thanks. Sang

  9. Hi, I recently downloaded a hotfix pacakge that includes a number of hotfixes post to Windows XP Service Pack 2. However, some of hotfixes were already extracted, and missing the original software update package. While I can use "/integrate" switch to integrate hotfixes (those of the original software update package files) to my original Windows XP SP2 CD, I cannot find a way to integrate extracted hotfix package to my WXPSP2 CD. Running "update.exe /integrate" gives me following message: "Extracted packages cannot be integrated. The /integrate switch must be used with the original software update package" Is there any way to alter this message and process the update integration from extracted package? I mean other than putting files in "svcpack" folder and editing "Svcpack.inf" file? Thanks in advance for all your help. :-)
  10. So there's no CDImage 2.52 available as of yet. All the 2.52 versions that are available on the net are fake ones. Hmm.. Wondering where the genuine one is!
  11. I am looking for it too. Does anyone has it?
  12. Oh, yes. They do have the same size, but it has slightly different decompressed size.
