hi, these regtweaks used to work perfect on my sp1 slipstream unnatended cd, but now with sp2, they dont do anything ;----- Disable Error Reporting Service ;----- ;Allows error reporting for services and applictions running in non-standard environments. ;Calls home to Microsoft when application errors occur. I personally do not like this. I feel it is a waste of memory and ;resources. On the other hand, if you are experiencing system crashes often, the best way to deal with them is to report them ;using this tool. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ERSvc] "Start"=dword:00000004 nor does tis one work ;Disable Error Reporting Service [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ERSvc] "Start"=dword:00000004 but error reporting is still on after the setups done ;----- Prompt for Password on Resume (Windows XP) ;----- ;[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System\Power] ;"PromptPasswordOnResume"=dword:00000000 ;[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System\Power] ;"PromptPasswordOnResume"=dword:00000000 i dont want windows too pompt for password after screensaver or power, but it still does it.. ;----- Do Not Start MS-Messenger with Outlook Express ;----- [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express] "Hide Messenger"=dword:00000002 i dont want messenger too start with OE, but it does ;Opens nfo files with Notepad [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.nfo] "Application"="NOTEPAD.EXE" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.nfo\OpenWithList] "a"="Explorer.exe" "MRUList"="ba" "b"="NOTEPAD.EXE" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.nfo\OpenWithProgids] "MSInfo.Document"=hex(0): that also doesnt work these did work with sp1 cd, but not anymore, the rest of my regtweaks file are working perfect, must there be different ones for sp2 for the onesi mentioned above? thanks k

XP Home unnatended.. i get Choice of OS on bootup?
kC_ replied to kC_'s topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003

hi.. I have a XP SP2 HOME cd i made for work... everythings fine, all apps working nicely etc, but one problem i set it so that it asks me for partition info ( i ALWAYS delete the partitions so it says "unpartitioned space") then format NTFS FULL now all goes fine... after instal is complete, the pc reboots ... now here it asks for choice of OS both are WIN XP HOME, and whichever i press brings up the same windows, which isnt really a problem, just that it waits there for 30 seconds before continuing loading windows now is there anyway i can fix this in my cd so that it doesnt show 2, or if not, is there a way too change the default "display choice of OS from 30 seconds to 1" without manually changing it after the instal is done here is my winNT.sif incase something is wrong there ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" AutomaticUpdates=yes [Unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemPreinstall=Yes UnattendSwitch="yes" TargetPath=\WINDOWS CrashDumpSetting=0 FileSystem=* DisableDynamicUpdates=yes DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore WaitForReboot=no OemSkipEula=Yes OemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\" KeyboardLayout="United Kingdom" [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=85 OemSkipWelcome=1 [UserData] ComputerName=* FullName="Windows" ProductKey="xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx" OrgName="n/a" [Display] BitsPerPel=32 Xresolution=800 YResolution=600 Vrefresh=75 [TapiLocation] CountryCode=44 AreaCode=01714 Dialing=Tone [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=1 SystemLocale=00000809 UserLocale=00000809 InputLocale=0809:00000809 [Identification] JoinWorkgroup=MSHOME [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes [Components] msmsgs=off msnexplr=off [Shell] DefaultStartPanelOff = No CustomDefaultThemeFile="%Systemroot%\Resources\Themes\Royale.theme" [PCHealth] RA_AllowFullControl=0 RA_AllowToGetHelp=0 RA_AllowUnsolicited=0 [Branding] BrandIEUsingUnattended=Yes [URL] Home_Page=http://www.google.co.uk Search_Page=http://www.google.co.uk [Proxy] Proxy_Enable=0 Use_Same_Proxy=0 [GuiRunOnce] %systemdrive%\install\start.cmd thanks
