  1. Try removing the ECHO OFF, etc and put a PAUSE at the end of your batch file to help debugging the problem.
  2. Does the original disk boot on those systems? Did you set the correct parameters for your boot diske.g. no emulation, the correct number of sectors and the correct address to load the boot image?
  3. NTLDR should be located in the I386 directory on your CDROM. If you get that message it means that the system is correctly booting from the CDROM, but cannot locate the NTLDR file. That means it is either not on the CDROM or there is something wrong with the naming. Make sure that the character set is ISO9660 and not something else. Also, make sure that no ISO file version extensions are being added.
  4. Has anyone an example of a .reg file to add RunOnceEx entries using REGEDIT.EXE instead of adding the registry entries one by one using REG.EXE?
  5. I think you are correct; the current directory for the script seems to be C:\WINNT\. The hotfix is located in the Update (svcpack) directory. But where is it? Blame me, but I am trying to integrate it into W2K
  6. I have now created a mdac.cmd file in the I386\Update directory and an entry for mdac.cmd in svcpack.inf. mdac.cmd contains a single entry Q832483.exe /C:""dahotfix.exe /q /n"" /q:a and I am getting an error message saying that Q832483 is not recognized as an external command. Any idaes? Q832483.exe is also located in the I386\Update.
  7. I have the following command in the cmdlines.txt file: "%systemdrive%\Install\HotFixes\KB839643.EXE /Q /O /N /Z" and I am getting the following error Any suggestions?
  8. Is this the same executable as KB839643.EXE? Where can I find these files? Edit: Ok, I think I found them by extracting them from the hotfix executable, but I am still not sure what to do with them 05/05/2004 04:15p 8,464 custom_uninstall.dll 05/07/2004 04:11a 220,432 dplayx.dll 05/07/2004 04:11a 44,304 dpwsockx.dll 11/16/2001 08:27a 5,149 empty.cat 04/06/2004 02:26a 6,656 spmsg.dll 04/06/2004 02:27a 158,208 spuninst.exe 06/11/2004 10:45a <DIR> update
  9. Sorry, my mistake! I ment svcpack.inf. MDAC does not get installed with this line svcpack.inf.
  10. I am currently using svcpack.inf to install my hotfixes, cmdlines.txt setup my RunOnce, and RunOnce to install my applications. Is there any difference in what gets installed when? E.g. could I put everything in svcpack.inf or could I put everything in RunOnce to take two extremes?
  11. I have set DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore, but I am getting this message Has this message any relationship to the DriverSigningPolicy and if so, how can I get rid of the message?
  12. I have entered the following in my winnt.sif file "Q832483.exe /C:""dahotfix.exe /q /n"" /q:a" however, MDAC does not get installed under W2K SP4. Any suggestions?
