  1. My office xp that I shrunk with your program seems to work half the time, and the other half the time I have to run it twice to get it working. Just today I couldn't get it to install at all. It gets to the end of the configuring office status bar thingie and then starts going backwards and exits. Can someone please explain why it is doing this? I would give you a log file but I found none. --update-- After adding /laceimow "office.txt", I found that it was missing a file. So... I guess I will have to run the shrinker app a third time on this distribution. More to come...
  2. Thanks. Is this recognized by the fb2k folks? Can it be? May I please see the inno script so we can bless it for our official department install cd?
  3. This may or may not work for the most recent nero, I refuse to upgrade to the 6.x releases. At any rate, here is how you perform a silent install of nero without the third party wma support. I am assuming you have a serial number. There may be a simpler way to do this, like a switch or something; I couldn't find anything. 1) Download nero551056.exe from their site -> Downloads -> Updates -> Previous Versions -> Nero Burning Rom 2) Run it, but don't proceed. 3) Copy the files in %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Temp\RarSFX0 or something. 4) Exit the installer. 5) Delete the two installers in the RarSFX0\Shared directory, do not touch AudioPlugins. Setup will no longer prompt you to run the third party installer. You may wish to include nero burning rights: 6) Download NeroBurnRightsInstaller.exe from their site -> Support -> Utilities -> Support Tools -> Nero BurnRights 7) Drop it in the nero build directory. 8) Use the following to install both applications. setup.exe /silent /silent=1 /no_ui /noreboot /nocancel NeroBurnRightsInstaller.exe /silent /burnrights:all 9) You will need to modify the registry with this version. So add the following lines to your script. reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Info" /VE /f reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Info" /V Serial5 /D "xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx" /f If you wish to try this with 6.x, append these switches to setup.exe instead of the reg entries above. /write_sn /sn="xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx" 9) Now create a new installer, I used innosetup. Enjoy!
  4. Here is my autoit source, installer, and iexpress package for mozilla 0.9.3 http://www.marticus.org/files/unattended/firefox/ Read the disclaimer!
  5. I updated the iexpress package with 0.9.2 and have uploaded it along with the sed file. m00j's installer is there along with my config.ini Scan for viruses!!! Ensure you get these files from either myself or m00j respectively. These files obtained elsewhere are not supported. As soon as I find a way to extract CRC hashes, I will include the md5 checksums for security. http://www.marticus.org/files/unattended/ Enjoy!
  6. The following may be different for others; I have a peculiar configuration. Here are some issues with the silent install of the latest version. - The uninstall does not work (for me) if installed using /s - Yahoo uninstall is broken, does not uninstall all components - Yahoo installs some files in %ProgramFiles%\Yahoo!\Companion\Installs\cpn[n] where [n] is either nothing (for the first time install) or 0, I have not tested to see if it increments n+1 for each install. I will assumed it does. Thus making the possibility of a uniform complete uninstallation of the product from the command line. Update: I think the uninstall issue only affects me because I uninstalled using the manual method below and then installed without /s and it still wouldn't uninstall. Unless the installer -is- broken, I am almost certain this applies to me only due to my strange configuration. In summary, do not use the latest shockwave unless there is a security issue with the previous version. If there is, then run AutoIt on a normal installation of the most recent and uncheck yahoo companion, or something... Otherwise, grab the previous version from James' reply and use the /s switch. Note: If your uninstall is broken like mine, then use the uninstall program left behind by the installer. %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Temp\GLB1A2B.EXE You can get this file from your temp directory upon completion of the installation of the older version with /s option. Note: this file copies itself as GLB1A2B.EXE if I rename it to something else. Odd behavior... After you run it, use the following install.log when it prompts you for it. C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Shockwave 10\Install.log Enjoy!
  7. Update: keep reading this thread, look for my more recent posts for more information and to obtain newer versions of this installer. This is an AutoIt package, no? This is something I haven't played with. Everything I need to install has full silent installation support. I guess this is a first for me. For those of you who wish to build an IExpress Wizard self extracting installer using m00j's autoedit installer, follow the directions found on another page on this site (do a search), but modify two things. Make sure you select Maximized on the Show window step and optionally check Hide File Extracting Progress Animation from User on the Package Name and Options step. Here is my finished product. As with anything downloaded, be paranoid and scan for viruses and such. Make sure you only get FirefoxSetup-0.9-Marticus.exe from the following site and no other place. I will not support this if you do (not much to support really). http://www.marticus.org/files/unattended/
  8. Is there any way to prevent the screen from flashing during the installation method sumarized by 996? -Marticus
