this is not in the device manager area is why it is strange ok you know under control panel under sound and then under sounds again there is sound schemes i get that yellow exclamation point on windows start navigation sound? i can go select the sound and it is there but as soon as i reboot or log of it goes back to that. this is farly new computer not sure if there is updated sound drivers for it not sure if that would make a difference with this area or not.

It will stay till i reboot my computer i thought well maybe its my codec pack so i removed it tried it again no go so is not that. how the heck do i fix this? the sound file is clearly there i see it it works it plays nothing wrong with it can someone help me fix this please? thanks i would greatly appreciate it.

i moved to K-lite and wow i got sound back with my PDVD8 his codec broke my sound i thought something was up. when i moved to k-lite everything went back to normal

that is not answer i was looking for but ok. he was removed for some reason so is his codec still good to use or dose it Hose systems?.

HI all i see that the vista codec area has been removed i have it on my computer is it still good to use? or should i delete/kill it and get something else problem is can you completely remove codecs?

wow glad someone else notes this to was strange indeed well i guess we don't need it there lol. maybe a program we all installed brings it out and we are not suppose to see it then it leaves lol makes yeah wonder.

can someone let me know if anyone else has seen this folder appear and disaper in there all programs menu thanks.

I think this folder was not suppose to be there as i was at the same time having problems with a software i uninstalled this software and reinstalled it and come to think of it that folder went a whey after that. so i think it fixed itself the whey it suppose to be if this folder is suppose to be there let me now. although i can't figure out why a duplicate of same stuff in menu would need be there lol.

Hi all up till just a few minutes ago i had a folder that showed up in my start menu named Programs. i went into my menu to custom it and i hit classic menu by mistake. so i went back to Vista menu and this folder is gone?. how would i get it back it was there when i got my computer always has been. i thought it was kinda strange because it had repeats of what was on my menu. but i got use to it being there and now it mysteriously is gone. just from a switch from classic start menu to vista start menu it gone? help if you can thanks i no i did not delete it it just went poof lol.

not in the default one that comes with vista but if you d-load the windows live photo gallery you can pick the folder you want it to look in and it stays that whey. but i will tell you a better program for picture viewing its FastStone Image Viewer and you can chose file associations in it. not to dis Microsoft programs as they windows photo gallery and windows live is a good program i have both on my computer i use them all independently.

i had boinc installed on my computer and it was using 100% of my quad core processes all the time and it was runing all the time to. i want to use it but i could not find out how to make it just run on idol i could not even watch movies or play games as it was hogging my cpu and i got quad core. any one have this issue? also was hogging my GPU stuff to i saw my temps rise and i got hella cooling on this machine.

Revo uninstaller has a handy feature for disabling stuff that runs on startup it's a pretty good app for uninstalling trouble programs as well.

not sure i had this PC built but more then likely yes it probable is there. not sure what program this would be though as all my programs were vista compatible so i thought only thing i think i installed that day was AVG and cyberlink power to go. but those have all been updated now from the web with newer versions. so is it safe to delete this task? or should i leave it. i tried looking for this file on my PC but i can't find it . EDIT: i looked on the cyberlink CD and this points to the DemoShield thing on the disk so is it safe to delete this entry? or just leave it as is.

Hi all i got this wired task scheduler entry and i did not make it what is this is it mallware ?? here is entry in a photo. please tell me if it is a ok entry not sure what it was. if you click on the picture it will get bigger. if it is still small when you get there click on it again.

yeah i new about this all ready but my friend tells me WDS is better so how would i do this with WDS as from what i read it only searches documents and e-mail by defualt. and someone told me if you make it index other parts besides that it slow down the process. is there another whey to search with WDS other then having it index them??.

You can search inside documents, pdf, xps, doc, inf, txt, etc dose it search hidden files and folder and your hard drive like the old search did i'm thinking of installing it but from the looks of it on there page. It looks like it only searches document and folders like that? "bump"

i think i might do that to get ride of it but the IE8 page is down right now makes me wonder if they are doing the RC or something.

I hate this s*** the error that Microsoft tech told me to leave is filing up my dang event logger i have to clear it daily should i just reinstall that beta how stable is it?? i never used it just seen it and uninstalled it. thanks all and that is the only info i have on the error it's just some stupid empty key that points to GP extension.

my guess maybe she has a BF and was chating to him they say kids start young i would keep a clear eye on her for sure. use that free monitor program it's just as good as the pay for ones. also keep eyes out for child predators they like to pressure young kids into doing stuff bad. i keep a close tabs on my kid her computer is in a family room so i can see what it is she is doing. ether relocated the pc or use filters and a monitor program.
